Rory had gone to Quidditch practice, so natrually Duke had followed him there. At first the young werewolf was sure that his older brother, Leo, was on the team too. Then he could convince them to let him play too. But as he found out, Leo wasn't on the pitch. Or if he was, Duke had somehow missed him. It didn't matter too much one way or another. Instead Duke was watching from the ground as Rory looked awesome in the air.
Once practice was over, Duke didn't want to leave though. "Hey Rory! Will you help me out for flying class?" Duke doubted he'd need help. But he wanted time with Rory. And there was always a girl with him in the rest of the school. Maybe he needed to go yell at Sirius for not teaching Rory that girls were gross. Because they were, right?
Quidditch did make him feel a little bit better. Being outside, and in the air, helped a little. Especially as Quidditch practice involved a lot of working on teamwork things with Randi, being the other beater, so it was doing things with his best friend.
During the course of training, he noticed Duke watching. It was nice that Duke was at Hogwarts now, he got to spend time with his cousin during the school year instead of just out of it. As it ended, he moved over to the boy. "Hi," he said. "I sure can." He wasn't sure if he'd been any good at teaching, but he could try...?
