Cleopatra knew that she had cousins, she'd just never met them. And her family rarely spoke about them. It had actually been years until she'd found out that she had them, due to her family's trying to pretend they weren't part of the family. The girl didn't spare much thought about it. She'd never met them, it wasn't relevant to her life. Until she'd seen their names pop up a couple of times.
Ignatius popped up in the paper. Which made her wonder why her family was ignoring he existed. Wouldn't you want to claim the Hit Wizard Captain as your own? At least if you were going with their trying to regain what prestige having a squib in the family had lost. But apparently that was just too close.
And then she'd found a book in the library with the last name Darnell. And reading that had been the urge to find out about them. To maybe meet them. Telling her parents she was meeting friends (which if they'd paid more attention to her, they might have realised she hadn't done that over a holiday before), the girl traversed into London.
It took a little to find where she was going, but when she did, she knocked. Here goes?
As it turned out, Sebastian was spending a lot more of his time at Aurelia's these days. It was convenient in a lot of ways. She was central to a lot of shops and things since she didn't have magic to get places. It also helped out that Sebastian did have magic and could use it around the house, doing things like keeping it warmed when no one was home or clearing up messes that would have been permanent otherwise. It was just win-win for the both of them and they got to actually see each other more than once every two weeks when Sebastian got a moment away from his job.
It was still a little weird for him to be there when she was out though, like he was now. It still didn't feel like a space he could just make his own and relax in by himself. It was her space that he just happened to be in. He could have gone back to his, but he also didn't want her to be sad if she got back and he'd just gone off without a word or something. It was a weird situation to be in and they should probably talk about it when she got back. Maybe. If Seb could bring himself to do it.
Right now though he had to attend to a knock on the door. It would be rude to just leave it, but again it was weird to do things in a house that wasn't his own. Making a face to himself for a split second, he got up to answer the knock. He didn't know what he expected on the other side, but it wasn't a teenager. "Um, hello?" he said quite confused.
