Sitting crossed-legged on the floor of the potions classroom, something Lydia was more than sure wouldn't be allowed during actual class, she stirred the small cauldron in front of her. It wasn't exactly an approved potion, and all she could really do was hope the professor didn't walk in on her experimenting. Normally she'd be more discreet about things, but the student supply closet was much too tempting to pass up this time. Which was why she was sitting on the floor, kind of out of sight, but not really. It would be obvious if anyone actually opened the door.
Stirring the potion in front of her one more time, Lydia reached out for some crushed bicorn horns, carefully shaking the powder into the cauldron, eyes on the liquid inside. It was a nice teal color, but then she apparently gave one too many shakes and it turned a sinister green color that was giving off an equally sinister smoke. Grimacing, she leaned back from the bubbling concoction, making a note in the notebook sitting next to her knee about what she'd learned.
Unfortunately, in the time it took to do that, the smoke had filtered its way to the door and out through the crack under it. Cursing, Lydia quickly did a spell to clear the unhappy potion from the cauldron and hoped that no one was walking by as the smoke cleared of the corridor.

Apollo was wandering his way down the hallway when he saw a rather eerie green smoke filtering out into the hallway from the potions classroom. Well, that got a raised eyebrow from him, but he cleared the smoke before peeking inside the room to see who was causing a ruckus. He, of course, had a guess as to who would be brewing something ridiculous at this hour, but well he couldn’t be sure. Upon poking his head into the room he spotted Lydia. She was a bit of an odd one, but he respected her experimental nonsense for the most part. Though, he was pretty sure in this case that something had gone pretty wrong. Unless she was trying to get someone’s attention he doubted she was purposely trying to fill the hallway with smoke as that seemed like a real good way to get in trouble.
He wandered over to where she was sitting on the floor and plopped down next to her. “So, trying to blow up the potions room then?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. “What’re you attempting to make anyway?” he asked curiously. Clearly it was going wrong, or well, he thought it was pretty clearly going wrong. Potions wasn’t his best class, so he supposed he wasn’t an expert on what correct potions looked like, he was just pretty sure correct ones didn’t spew smoke.
