Tesla loved pillow forts. He'd worked really hard on making sure he could help prove that Iris didn't need to graduate. There had to be something he could do. He'd tried the whole Ravenclaw common room, but Iris still seemed proud to graduate at the end of the year. Which meant that now Tesla had to go bigger. He was thinking that the problem with the first round of pillow forts was the fact that it was only in their common room. Instead this time he was going to have to somehow get the whole school involved.
Any time he had been asked about what he was doing, he loudly said that Professor Black was okay with it and people just sort of left him alone. It wasn't until he managed to have it fully set up that he looked around for someone to talk to. He had a plate of cookies in the fort. However the fort took up the whole Great Hall. In his bird onesie, he was waiting for his best friend to show up. Or anyone, really. Pillow forts were boring all on his own.

Rory was hungry. That wasn't a weird occurance, considering that he was a twelve year old boy. And so maybe there would be food that he could eat. However, on walking into the Great Hall, he saw that there was no food. Instead there was pillows everywhere. And forts. And blankets. And. Okay. This was way better than food.
He grinned. "This is wonderful!" He'd made some pillow forts with Duke over the last holiday, so having a pillow fort here at school was great. It was a pity that Duke was not here too.
Hanna was a curious but shy little thing. When she'd walked out of the common room she had thought to go study in the great hall for a few more hours before heading to bed. All her plans faded the moment she walked in and noticed that there was such a thing going on as pillows. Everywhere. With wide eyes she walked in and picked up a pillow just in case this was going to turn into a pillow war she needed to defend herself. Hogwarts was a very dangerous place so it wasn't impossible, right? She shuffled through the great hall, looking for people.
When she spotted a pair it had to be a prefect and a boy one year higher than she was. Nobody in her year. She quietly stood for a moment before she had managed to gather the courage to walk in their general direction. Standing a bit away hugging the pillow to her chest she quietly managed to smile. "Hello." She had no idea how this was going to go.
Tesla was full of antics, Rhiannon knew that. But this time she was caught completely unaware of yet another one of them in his cheap bag of tricks. All she knew was that she was supposed to meet up with him in the Great Hall in the evening, and naturally she guessed that he just wanted to hang out with her before they had to retire to their respective Common Rooms for the night. What else did couples ever want to do but be in the company of the other for as long as they could, anyway? Not to say that they shouldn't have their own personal space, however.
The unsuspecting Hufflepuff prefect thus made her way to the Great Hall from wherever she had been previously; most likely it had been the Hufflepuff Common Room below it. And the moment she entered it, she stopped in her tracks and stared at the sight in front of her.
There were pillows. Everywhere. But they were not laying about in a disorganized array. Rather, they were intricately set up in a way to resemble mock forts, the way she and her brothers and their farm neighbors had done with snow in the winters.
Rhi blinked. She already got the gist of what was going on here, but she still wasn't completely aware of what was going on. Therefore, her head immediately turned in the direction of where her boyfriend was, and she looked at him slightly askance. There were already two young Gryffindors in the hall; she wondered if they, too, had just stumbled upon Tesla's masterpiece.
The pillow fort in the common room had finally been taken down, and honestly she kind of missed it. Still, a few of the birds had complained and it kind of was hard to wander around in it with all the pillows everywhere. It was a fun idea though, and she wouldn't mind having another one somewhere. Maybe she could make the seventh year girls dorms a pillow fort. There weren't really that many of them, so she doubted anyone else would care. If nothing else she could always surround just her own bed in a pillow fort. Nobody could complain if she was the only one impacted. Pillow forts made her feel safe, and so she liked nesting in them while doing homework or just existing in general. They eased her anxiety, and so she was definitely sad to see the one in the common room have to go. Though, apparently the idea behind it was to keep her from graduating, and well it was going to take a lot more than a pillow fort for that to happen.
She was wandering around the school when she made her way into the great hall and found herself in what was apparently a massive pillow fort. Tesla, how? Who else could it be but Tesla? So she knew it was him, not to mention she now saw him standing there in the middle of the fort. There were also a few others, she recognized her housemate's girlfriend and saw a couple small gryffindors. She just sort of sighed and skipped her way over to Tesla. "Teslaaaa, how did you convince the staff to let you turn the great hall into a pillow fort. Our common room is one thing, but the great hall?" she said simply. It was quite extensive, she was impressed honestly.

Everyone was showing up and it made him feel a lot better. "Welcome everyone!" The more people there, the better. He wanted to make sure that he could make sure that things went better and smoother. "It's a pillow fort!" And without any trouble, he wrapped an arm around Rhiannon. Rhiannon was his other half and the best part of his world. He loved making sure things went well with them. After what felt like ages of them being together, he couldn't imagine being with anyone else.
"Professor Black." He liked making sure that everything went well. "Professor Black was fine with me doing this." He was pretty sure that Professor James would let him as well. "I want everyone to be happy here." Especially Iris though. This was her last good bye.
"And...what are you wearing?" Rhi asked as well as she looked him over. He looked adorable in that bird onesie, but it wasn't what you wore in the middle of the Great Hall.
He then announced that it was a pillow fort. Her eye's widened, even as she felt his arm around her. She didn't know why she should be surprised since the Great Hall was indeed covered in pillows set up to mimic forts, and it wasn't beyond Tesla to organize such an event. To be fair to herself, however, it was still quite unexpected, especially when she hadn't been notified about it in advance. "A pillow fort? But, why here?" was all she could think to ask before someone else joined them.
It was Iris Hargrave, housemate and friend of Tesla's. Rhi was only acquainted with her but the metamorphagus seemed like a nice girl. Anyway, still feeling rather aghast by the surprise that she had been met with when she stepped into the Great Hall, she turned to look at Iris and listened as the other girl spoke.
So, this was something Tesla did in his Common Room, which, Rhi thought, was typical of him and quite normal. But she was of a mind with Iris that doing it in the Great Hall was quite extravagant. She also wondered how he had been able to get around the staff for that.
At least he had a professor's okay for it. "Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have this as long as it gets cleaned up in the end," she remarked. Although still rather unsure as to what to think, she was able to see the mirth in this and smiled a little. "I'm sure this is going to be a lot of fun." It was interesting, to say the least.
he day was winding down to a close and Ada had been painting by the light of the fireplace in the Slytherin common room when someone came in to excitedly announce that some Ravenclaw had convinced Professor Black to give him permission to build pillow forts in the Great Hall. Ada immediately knew that Tesla must have had something to do with the this, and sighed with exasperation. One of these days she had to learn to ignore the extremely long and frustrating shadow that her brother cast in the castle, but today was not that day. She put away all of her things, making notes for her painting and tucking it and all of her supplies away in her dorm, and then made her way down to the Great Hall.
By the time that Ada got there, a small group of students had already succumbed to the enchantment of the pillow forts and, as expected, Tesla was right in the middle of it. Without consideration for those who were already talking to Tesla, Ada cut through everyone and interjected with a huff, "Pillow forts, really?" pairing her comment with a raised eyebrow that seemed to be the signature of every conversation with Tesla.
