Kathleen was bored. She didn't want to do any of her homework, and she'd just finished her last dragon books, and she didn't feel like walking all the way down to the library. Maybe she could go exploring, but that involved stairs too. And she really just was not in the mood for stairs right now. Stairs were a lot of effort.
So she saw Saya sitting on her bed doing something. She really didn't pay that much attention before she crossed the room and then flopped on the bed. "Hi," she said, looking up at her from where she was lying. "What are you doing?"
The girl had finished her homework for the day hours ago. It was usually the first thing she did to get it out of the way. Then her day could be spent better-- or, well, in her opinion anyway. Her copy of Go Weekly hadn't come in yet, so the girl had settled for something else. The book of life and death go problems lay open in her bed next to a worn folding goban. The board itself didn't really have pieces on it, but it was always there in case she had trouble reading something mentally. At the moment she was working on a problem meant for 5 dans and her brows were scrunched up in concentration. Mouthing the moves to herself she doesn't notice when the other girl gets out of bed and it's only until there's a sudden movement of her bed that she looks up--frowning as the old board went skidding across the bed, but thankfully most of the pieces were in their plastic containers otherwise that would have been a mess. "Kathleen-san," Sayaka answered, glancing down at her, fixing her hold on the book. She tried keeping the sharp sound of annoyance from her voice-- Because she liked her roommate, she did. It was just unexpected. Though, maybe she should have expected it. Really. Closing the book she put it aside to fuss with picking up her board. "I was studying," She answered with a shrug, "now is as good a time as any to stop for the day. Was there something I may help you with?"

It hadn't really crossed Kathleen's mind to say something before she had flopped onto the bed. Or to not flop onto the bed at all. That was just sort of what she did. She had taken care not to flop on top of the board, or the books though, so that was something right? Even if the board did skid a little on the bed. Oops.
"How's the studying going?" she asked. She wasn't sure she would have called it studying, because it wasn't school work. But that was okay, Sayaka actually knew what she was doing, so what she called it was probably right. "No, not really. I was just bored." And she wasn't sure what to do to entertain herself.
