"Well if not, I'm sure you could go complain to the kitchens," Ela commented, following him through the people towards the food table. Food was a good way to start the night, then maybe dancing? Maybe she could convince Dan to dance with her... there was a possibility.
"Success!" she said, with an overexaggerated wave of her hands, and shoved past some of the people so that she was standing beside him. "Mission accomplished!"

Tesla liked being everyone's friend. It was important to him. More important then anything else. But the truth was, he felt weird not seeing Rhiannon around. They'd been together for ages. He was pretty sure they'd get married and he wasn't even jealous when he saw her around other people. He just felt secure in their relationship. But it was weird in his mind that she wasn't here. Oh well. He'd check on her later. For now, he'd spend time with Annabelle who clearly needed him.
He didn't know who was upsetting him or anything else like that, but he was here for her. Without any trouble at all, he was join to join her and her smaller friend. "So are you okay?" If she wasn't, he was going to do whatever he had to do in order to make her happy. "Maybe next year I'll be the Head Boy and you'll be the Head Girl." He stated with a head nod. It was the only thing that mattered. They'd hang out together a lot.

Her first dance really was a momentous occasion. This was better than her Christmas. Better than her birthday!...Okay, maybe not better than her birthday. After all, what was better than a day solely dedicated to her? The Great Hall did remind her a lot of her birthday party right then though--lots of pink, lots of shine. It really did look nicer than she had ever remembered it being. None of those stuffy house colors or heavy tables laying around. She needed to mention to someone to keep it this way before the night was up. Now, she just needed to figure out who exactly to tell...
That could wait though. There were far too many things to catch her attention to worry about that now. Between the dancing and the candy, her eyes just didn't know where to look next. The whole thing looked overwhelming to her little first year mind, and she couldn't have asked for more.

Val had been informed that he had no choice but to go the dance--it was practically in his honor after all. He'd quickly reminded his sister that he had about as much choice in his name as she did when their parents had named her Carmel. His argument probably would have made a bigger impact if her name didn't suite her so well. His on the other hand was debatable. While his sister was the perfect representation gooey inside of candy, he was far from being the pastel bomb he'd finally relented to go to. The second they walked in the door, all he saw was the back of his sister's head as she disappeared into the crowd though.
That went as well as could be expected, Val thought as he edged his way around the outskirts of the party. He easily could just slip back out without being missed, but he figured he might as well make a beeline for the refreshment table while he was there. It looked like most of it was laced with glitter and pink confections, but glitter candy was better than no candy after all. He'd just head out after his stomach was full...

Arya was far from pleased with this whole ordeal. "Hey can I dance with you in a moment?" She loved Annabelle, but she was going to have to go ahead and deal with other things. One of her older sister figures was there, which made her feel just fine. But she didn't want to dance with Annabelle at the moment. While she was displeased and she hated Professor Black, she was going to go ahead and make things go better.
Before she could even stop herself, she was by Valentine. "Hey Val. Wanna dance?" She didn't really care what he said, she was going to stay with him. Without saying anything, she moved her hand into his. Squeezing his hand, she couldn't help but beam up at him. Really, Val was the best person in the world in her book.

Gabriela also seemed quite happy about the pies. Grabbing the plate he picked two up shoving them in his mouth. At least he wasn't going to go hungry. Dan moved the plate towards her gesturing for her to take one, not wanting to talk with his mouth full. Looking at the rest of the spread he was spoilt for choice. Finishing his food he looked back to the Gryffindor. "Do you think if we ate all of this anyone would notice?" He asked, looking around the room noticing the rest of the students were preoccupied with other things.
Eiko was hard pressed to resist any parties, but then logically she'd argue breaks from work were very important. Never mind, she did partly go to them primarily for that reason. It wasn't as if she slacked off every chance she got. But the big parties, the ones allowed by the professors, always had such good food too. Her stomach rumbling quietly at the thought of that fact.
And so she'd swiftly set off from the common room. Eiko coming to a stop in the Great Hall, in spite of her stomach, to grin at the sight of big bubbles. Now if only they were lower down, she would already be on a table and trying to pop them. Though she could try a spell...
"Probably not," she said with a slight laugh. "As long as we don't try to like...take all of them at once. This dress is not good for hiding food in." Maybe she needed a bag that was bigger on the inside to take out with her, and then she could shove all sorts of things inside of that. That seemed like a good idea, really.

Val sputtered through the chocolate in his mouth, his cheeks bulging with the shear amount of it. So much for slipping in-and-out without being noticed. He tried speaking once more, but all he got out was a garbled, "Mrmm." There was no way of talking his way out of it, and it seemed extremely rude to just rush out the door at that moment. He found himself nodding in agreement instead.
Val covered his mouth with one hand to swallow the massive hunk of candy with the slightest bit of dignity and grabbed her hand with the other, walking out to the floor, before he could change his mind.
"So," he finally managed, "are you enjoying the dance so far?"

Leaving Annabelle alone with the Ravenclaw prefect might not have been the smartest idea, but Arya had a feeling she'd be okay. Besides, Val might disappear and she needed at least one dance with him. It was inly fair, after all.
But he touched her and they were dancing. It was like a scenefrom a movie or something. Life was perfect at this moment. "I've been enjoying it. But I always like seeing everyone all dressed up." Which was true. There was something about the party atmosphere that made her feel calm and happy.
"How about you?" It was the day of romance and theywere together. Nothing else mattered.

Iola was at the dance, although she wasn't sure why. Mostly she wanted to see Ellis. And then she felt sort of embarrassed for wanting to see him. Especially since she knew he didn't feel the same way as she did. But oh well. She'd gotten a cute dress in the mail from her mother, so she figured she'd go to the dance.
Once there, there were too many people. She felt like she couldn't breath. So she found the drink table and paused there. This would be fine.
