It was dark in the dorm when she woke up. Her heart was racing and her mind was confused, and she couldn't really make sense of the scene around her. Mostly because the scene from the nightmare was still playing across her mind's eye, leaking into the very real, concrete objects that surrounded. Shaken and afraid, she knew going back to sleep. She got from her bed, Nugget chirping at her from the foot of it. He looked at her, seeming to debate whether to follow her or not, and decided to hop down, trailing behind her.
The orange cat followed her as she grabbed a sweater, pulling it tightly around her shoulders, and down the stairs to the common room, before she headed up the opposite side to the boy's dorm. Nervously, she hovered in the doorway of the one that belonged to the first years. Spotting the familiar dark-haired head, she moved closer to it. Ellis had a way of making her feel better, so she hoped he wouldn't mind the intrusion. "Ellis." She hissed, as Nugget jumped up, climbing clumsily over the boy, coming to a stop right in front of his face.

Ellis didn't often remember his dreams. But he had the vague sense that it was a good one. He'd had a good few weeks at school, and he was on the right track to becoming a healer. He was planning this very far in advance but Ellis knew that patience and hard work and cleverness would get him far. He'd spent the whole evening in the library looking up magical maladies and healing spells. He'd even tried one, but it didn't work. It just meant he had to practice more.
Exhausted from a good days work, Ellis had fallen asleep immediately. It felt like just a few moments later he was being awoken by a soft voice and a very furry bum. Ellis jolted, his eyes flying open. He looked around but all he could really see was a mountain of ginger fur. "Ah!" he yelped, scrambling around in his bed. Even though he recognised the cat, it still gave him a fright. Ellis looked round, knowing his owner was near. When he saw Summer, his terrified face broke into a smile. He glanced at his clock, which predictably told him it was the middle of the night. "Hi Summer," he whispered back. "This is the boys dorm! What are you doing here?" he asked, confused. "Are you ok?" he added, shifting so that there was room for her to sit with him.
She knew she wasn't supposed to be in the dorm room. She, of course, knew this was the boy's dorm - she'd always been far from dim. But, still, she needed friendship right now. She had snuck up on him, hoping for a shoulder to lean on. He woke slowly at first, then all once. Understandably, he was confused. She jumped a little when he jumped, making a small noise of her own. Nugget hissed crossly at the sudden noise, always so grumpy. She looked around nervously, hoping they hadn't woken the other boys.
She returned his question with a simple whisper, her worried, scared expression likely enough to make him follow her. "Come downstairs with me. I had a bad dream. Please?" She pleaded, her eyes wide and innocent. Without waiting for a response, she flounced towards the door, the large orange cat following suit, both creatures looking over their shoulders to see if Ellis followed.
