Things were going well for Iola. Now that she was no longer as worried about knowing Ellis, she was pretty sure that they were dating. She wasn't really sure why that was her feeling, but it was there. There was just something about him that calmed her down. Normally only Peter calmed her down. But Peter was like a brother. Ellis was something different all together. But it was Valentine's day and that was the day of love.
She wrapped her hand in his and dragged him out towards the lawns. Since they'd become friends, she'd gotten more confident with touching him. She still felt weird about it, but he didn't seem to mind too much. Instead he almost seemed decent. Maybe it was the whole dating and all of that thing? Oh well.
Eventually they reached a decent spot on the lawns and she faced him. "SoIdon'tlikethatmanypeoplebecausethey'rescary, butIreallylikeyousoweshouldgetmarried." Because she was twelve and he was obviously her soulmate. Right?

Timing: 14 February 2011
Ellis was very content. He had gotten to stay at Hogwarts over the holidays so he didn't have to deal with his dad. He also had gotten in touch with a paediatric healer in St Mungo's who he was sure would help him stay on track to be a healer. And finally, he made lots of new friends including the girl by his side. Iola had been extremely timid at first but had warmed up to him after a while. He liked her because she didn't mind that he asked a lot of questions. Well, he supposed she didn't mind much because she stuck around when others didn't.
Anyways, Ellis thought he would do something nice for Iola this Valentine's Day because she was a good friend. He had found a rosebush (naturally) on the grounds during one of his many wanderings and picked one for her. Unfortunately, that meant he cut his palm on the thorns, but that was easy to patch up. She found him in the Entrance Hall and slid her hand into his. "I got this for you," said Ellis, holding out the rose proudly. Iola led him out onto the grounds and he followed obediently.
She said something really quickly. Since Ellis talked really quickly as well, he had no problems translating that she thought they ought to get married. He couldn't help but giggle. "Get married? We're ever so young!"" he exclaimed with a grin. "That doesn't mean I don't like spending a lot of time with you because you're nice and you listen to me and you're a really good person and you have shiny hair," he added as an afterthought.

Ellis gave her a rose. It was just a sign. She was pretty sure her dad had given her a rose at the beginning of their relationship. But that was long ago. By now their relationship was weird and she didn't really know her dad. He seemed like a zombie most of the time. It was sad, but it was what it was. There wasn't anything she could really do to change it. Instead she could make sure that everything with Ellis went better.
But he spoke and part of her heart dropped. She wasn't really sure why she wanted to get married, other then it was just the thing people did. And he was her favorite person. But he didn't want to marry her. "Okay." And she tried to be happy, she really did. Her hair was shiny, but that wasn't everything. Instead she just nodded as she looked at him. Maybe this wouldn't be the end of the world.

Ellis suspected he had said the exact wrong thing, but he wasn't entirely sure how to correct it. So he just went on, probably making things worse. "Do you like the rose though? I think it's a pretty colour. Anyways, I don't even know what your favourite colour is. HAve you been to Scotland? That's where I'm from. We can have a playdate some time probably. Okay well maybe not cause my dad is a bit of a nutter. Where are you from Maybe we could have a playdate at yours some time?" he asked rapidly.

Ellis talking calmed her down. She felt like sh could breath while he yammered on about stuff. "I've never been to Scotland." And then a thought hit her. "Well like, I've been for Quidditch games. Mum takes me with her when she goes. Dad forgets." It was a downside to the potion. He forgot who she was most of the time. It was hard, but they were working through it.
