It had been a little while since Tom had suggesged going to a themepark - a concept that Evanna was still struggling to understand exactly what it was - but as seemed to happen with the two of them, life got in the way of their meetings.
Between everything that was going on in law enforcement, and her relationship problems with Kody, the last few months had been rather hectic - and it had not really been helped by the prophet article either. Rumours - or even truths - spreading in the paper was the last thing that she needed.
But either way, they had arranged a time that finally seemed to work, and she was waiting for him at the meeting place.

Tom enjoyed his days out with Evanna. This was now the second time he'd spent a day with the her doing random things. Thinking about it, he didn't actually know very much about her, however they seemed to get on well without knowing each others life stories. He enjoyed her company and hoped she enjoyed his.
Today, Tom had the task of taking Evanna to a theme park. Having not been before, she had seemed apprehensive when they first talked about it but Tom was determined to get her onto a roller coaster. Finally the day had come and Evanna was stood waiting for him. "I haven't kept you waiting, have I?" he asked as he walked up the road behind her. "Excited? I've been really looking forward to this." Grabbing his wand from his pocket he checked around the area. "You ready to do this again?"
Hearing the footsteps, Evanna turned, smiling at Tom. "No, you didn't keep me waiting." Not that she would have said as much if he had. She was raised to be polite, after all. Not exactly a bad thing to have been raised to be.
"I'm not sure excited is the right word," she said with a half smile. "Apprehensive may be closer." Day trips out in the muggle world were a weird experience, and she was still having some difficulty trying to wrap her head around the idea of where they were going today. Tom had said it would make more sense when she saw it, so hopefully... "Yep, ready," she said with a nod. Maybe not completely, but she'd survive.

"Good," Tom said with a smile. He knew he hadn't been too late, yet still it was rude to keep a lady waiting. He'd been brought up to be a gentleman and he hoped that he'd been just that to Evanna.
Tom could tell she was slightly nervous. He was surprised though, he hadn't exactly explained where they were going very clearly and to someone who had never experienced a theme park before it was a rather odd concept. "Don't worry, i'll keep you safe," he said with a grin. "Although i'm not sure if I can stop the horrible feeling when we apparate ". Lifting his arm up for her to take he thought hard about their destination.
The last few months have been something of an ordeal. Between everything that was happening in the law enforcement department, her fight with Kody, finding out that she was pregnant... some of that was partly resolved now, but it had all still added to the stress of the last few months. She was hoping this day out with Tom would help to eleviate some of that.
She smiled faintly, taking hold of his arm. "You'd think after doing it so many times we'd get used to it..." and it was true that she had in part, it wasn't nearly as unpleasant as apparating had been when she had first started doing it, but neither was it exactly pleasant.
They arrived at the place, and Evanna wrinkled her nose, trying to throw off the feeling. "Well hopefully the day gets better from here," she said teasingly.

Taking a deep breath the two of them were transported. Once again the uneasy feeling rose in his stomach. Maybe he didn't actually need to go on any roller coasters after this journey. Landing quite smoothly, they had ended up in a quiet part of the car park just a few meters to the entrance. "The day will be better from here!" he exclaimed, almost skipping forward. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been on a roller coaster.
Work had been pretty intense recently. Magical incidents had been happening all over the place. That, and also a colleague going missing, it had been hectic. Tom hoped this would let him let off some steam. "Right, I don't care what you say Evanna we're going on that." Looking up the track of a roller coaster he walked towards the ticket booth hoping that his friend would be following.
As they landed from the apparition, Rvanna looked apprehensively at the place that they had arrived at. Metal tracks snaked everywhere. They looked slightly like trains, but nowhere near as safe.
"Oh, Merlin," she said softly following after Tom. A cart whizzed around one of the tracks, amd she startled, eyes following it. "Are you sure thats safe?" She followed him to one of the booths. "Lets do it then." She wasn't feeling entirely confident about that decision.

Tom could tell Evanna was apprehensive still. He couldn't remember what he had thought the first time he looked at the rollercoaster track. "More or less..." He replied with a slight grin. "I'm kidding. I think they have to do lots of checks and stuff. Wouldn't have thought it would be worth their while if all their guests fell off." Tom made his way to the ticket booth, ordering for then both. He then shuffled through the turnstile, hoping Evanna would follow suit. "Right so did you want to start off big or small?"
Did she trust the checks that muggles did was the question? Though he did make a good point, it was unlikely to be good for business if people were falling off rides. Still, she eyed the closest one. As long as she didn't die on some random muggle ride... "Small," she said, following after him. Oh dear, this was going to be an adventure. "I'm no Gryffindor after all." Building herself up before going on the big rides probably seemed like the better idea.

Tom knew Evanna was going to pick small, yet he still started to tease her. "Small!?" He exclaimed as he continue to walk into the park. "I'm not getting stuck on all the baby rides with you Evanna." Grinning, he led them towards what looked like a roundabout, except they were different sea creatures.
The place wasn't too busy at the moment so they didn't have to queue for very long. "What do you think would happen if we charmed those creatures to come alive?" He joked, as they waited for the gate to open. It probably wasn't worth his job, although at least he had the skills to wipe their memories if the urge ever took him.
She smiled faintly, and gave a shake of her head. "I can build my way up. Start small, go big, it is the smarter way to do things." Don't just suddenly leap right over your head. That was how you ensured you never wanted to get onto one of these items again.
"Then I might have to arrest you for breaking the law," she said teasingly. Though it was true. Enchanting muggle objects in front of so many muggles... that was definitely illegal.

At least she seemed a bit more confident now. “That’s a bit more positive. Although the next biggest ride is that rollercoaster over there,” he teased, pointing to the tallest structure. He was glad Evanna had come round to the idea of going on more of the exciting rides.
Tom raised his hands in innocence when she mentioned arresting him. “Ah, I forgot I was talking to the law,” he smiled, lowering his arms. “Don’t worry I won’t do anything like that, well you won’t see me doing it anyway.” Giving the blonde a wink, he shuffled forward as the line was starting to move. They were probably going to be on the next ride by the looks of things.
Evanna's eyes flickered to the structure that he was pointing out. "You know what," she said jokingly. "I think I'm just going to go home." To be honest, a little part of her was tempted. There was a lot going on in this place, and so much that she didn't recognize. It was a great deal of new things, and experiences that she hadn't had. But she was determined to see it through. She did at least have to give it a try before she made a call about whether or not it was something that she was not about.
She laughed softly, shaking her head. "I better not," she said with a wave of her finger. That would be a disaster, wouldn't it? A breach of the statue of secrecy in such a place like this... cleaning up that mess would not be pleasant for anyone involved. She moved forward with the queue, eyeing the small number of people in front of them. Oh dear.
Soon enough the queue was moving forward again. Oh dear, oh dear.

This was it. The last ride had finished. He wasn’t sure why he was so nervous, he wasn't apprehensive about going on it. Maybe he hoped Evanna was going to enjoy it and not want to go straight home. Tom always felt like he had to justify the muggle world to wizards and witches, wanting to ensure they had fun.
“Get on then,” he insisted, nudging her forward when the ride attendant gestured for them to move. Tom was eyeing up the octopus and made a beeline for it, also knocking the waiting children out of the way. “Which are you going to pick?” He shouted over grinning.
Maybe this was a very poor idea. Was she going to regret this? She might regret this. Daringly trying new things was not exactly something she was familiar with. But she could do this, right? This would be fine.
Tom nudged her forward as the gate was opened and then made a beeline for an octopus. She stalled for a moment, looking around. "Why are they underwater creatures?" she questioned back, picking a shell. Not that a shell was a creature, but beside the point.
The person walked around to make sure everything was secure, which did not give Evanna a lot of faith in this weird metal device. And then it suddenly lurched to a start. She grabbed tightly onto the handlebars.
