River had officially asked Pixie out on a date. Everything was going to go smoothly. Above all else, things were going to go well. He'd never had someone he adored the way he adored as much as Pixie. She was special and amazing. So he was trying to take care of her the way she always needed to be treated. Now that he had a job as the head in his department, he was actually felt like he could do more things to help her out. He was going to take her out on an official date.
Getting her to the Leaky Cauldron didn't take any convincing at all. He was just happy to be with her though.
Pixie was going on an actual date with her boyfriend tonight. Usually they sort of just ordered in and she would flop on him while he sort of awkwardly stared at her in awe as to why she was still there. Well, okay, maybe that wasn't why he stared at her, but she thought sometimes that was it based on his responses to things she said. It was fun throwing him off though, so she would just say things out of left field to see how much of a melt down he would have. Like suggesting they snog in his office, she had been mostly joking, but it would be interesting to see the department of mysteries right? The look on his face had been priceless though, so she had been satisfied.
She looped her arm through his and stood up on her tip toes to give him a kiss on the cheek as the walked into the Leaky Cauldron. "You're cute" she said with a smile at him. "Do we want to do anything after dinner? Go home and watch a movie maybe?" she asked him, curious as to if he had any plans other than dinner for their date.

River adored having Pixie with him. He'd gotten lucky with her as his girlfriend. Sometimes he was amazing that he managed to have her with him. How had he kept her around? She could do so much better, but oh well. He wasn't going to tell her that. There was no point for him to really try to run her away or anything else like that. He liked having her around. And he had been planning on giving her a key to his apartment. They spent most of their time together anyway. So why not given her a key? It wasn't like he was trying to keep anything from her.
He wrapped an arm around her with no trouble at all. "I am trying to make this all romantic for you. So would you rather go see a theater production or see a movie in theaters?" He loved going home and watching a movie. He just wanted to show her that he was in it for the long run. Anything she wanted to do, he was fine with. If she wanted to have an official real date, then this was that time.
Pixie adored River. He was just so precious, and she liked smooshing herself on him most of all. They spent most of their time together, and so she spent most of her time flopped on him in some way. That was her favorite way to sit in general let alone with him. All of her friends got squished by her at some point. Idly, she wondered if River would ever get jealous over that. She thought that could actually just be really cute, maybe she would see about it at some point? Oh well, right now they were going out to dinner, and so she was going to focus on that instead of what he might act like if he was jealous. Though, knowing him he might just be sad. She didn't want that, so perhaps she would just exclusively smoosh herself on him when he was around.
He wrapped an arm around her and she smiled as he commented that he was trying to make it all romantic and such. That was very cute, it really was, but she was fine with any kind of date even if it was just them at home. "I'm not sure what's even out in theaters, and plays are kind of boring. Also both of those require me to continue wearing pants. I like not wearing pants and squishing myself on you more." she said with a smile at him. Perhaps that would make him blush, but maybe he was used to it enough that he wouldn't. Dinner and a movie was pretty classic for dates, but she didn't know what was showing, and she just wanted to squish herself on him.

The best part about dating Pixie was the fact that River never had to guess where he stood with her or where their relationship was. She was pretty vocal about her wants and needs, which made him feel a lot better. He never had a girlfriend before, but he was pretty lucky with Pixie. She was just the best when it came down to it. And given that he didn't mind spending money on her, he was sort of surprised she was fine with just being at home. It was cheaper, but he wanted her happy.
"So then fine. After dinner we'll go home and watch something there." Or there would be more adult activities. Either way, he'd be fine. He just wanted to spend time with her, which was going to happen no matter what.
Pixie was always very vocal about what she wanted, and sometimes that became a problem. Oh well, at least River didn’t seem to mind it. Though, he wasn’t really one for complaining so perhaps he did and didn’t say anything? She would hope he would say anything, he should know she wouldn’t get mad about it and instead try to work with him on it instead. He seemed pretty easygoing, so perhaps he really was fine with it and just liked doing whatever she wanted. Perhaps it was because of her job that she just liked relaxing at home most of the time. Sure, she was a bit of a wild spirit, but she did a lot of wild running around while at work so when she finished she just sort of wanted to flop around and do a whole lot of nothing. Besides, she knew River got sick easily so she was slightly concerned about his health if they went out too much. There were more germs out at restaurants and at the movies than there were at home after all.
”Yay, though I’m not sure how much of the movie we’ll really end up watching.” she teased with a slight grin. She could be very distracting after all, and she was sure at some point she wouldn’t be able to resist tackling and snogging him rather than watching the movie. Another reason she didn’t like going to the movies, she felt like she actually had to watch the movie they paid for instead of flopping herself on him and snogging him until the credits rolled. ”Have you decided what you’re having for dinner?” she asked him curiously. She hadn’t, but perhaps he knew ahead of time what he wanted to eat.

Pixie was probably the best person in the world. Honestly, River fully enjoyed getting to spend time with his girlfriend. There wasn't anyone else he wanted to talk to more then her. He had friends, sure. But this was the more important person to him. This was Pixie.
"If you're next to me, I doubt I'll notice most of the movie." It was honest and true, but he couldn't help it. Instead he was just excited getting to spend any time with her. "Honestly? No. Everything sounds good." He wanted to eat everything.
He commented on not noticing most of the movie, and Pixie grinned. ”I can be rather distracting. It’s one of my skills.” she teased with a grin at her cute boyfriend. Granted, she wasn’t sure of many men who liked women that wouldn’t be distracted by a girl in a shirt and her underwear using them as a pillow. That was pretty distracting after all, or well at least she thought so. She’d certainly be distracted if a girl was doing that to her. She’d also be distracted if River was doing that to her, maybe she could talk him into that.
She asked if he had any idea what he wanted to eat, and giggled at his reply. ”I guess you have quite the decision to make then. We can always try some of what each other orders though.” she said with a smile and a nod. She thought this was a good solution. At least they would get to try two dishes then instead of just the one they ordered.

"And it's one of the many things I love about dating you." Honestly Pixie was everything he had always wanted in a partner. Sure, she was a little hyperactive ball of energy, but he couldn't imagine being with anyone else. Their whole relationship was strange, but it was strange in a way that made his heart happy. Because at the end of the day, she picked him. She could honestly have ended up with anyone and she had picked him to date.
But he nodded. Obviously that sounded like the only thing that would work. "Well we almost always share. So why not do that now?" It came with being together for awhile. They weren't married, but he didn't see any trouble with sharing anything he had with her. It came with the territory of being in a long term relationship.
River commented that her being distracting was one of the things he loved about dating her, and she winked at him. That was a very cute thing for him to say. ”You’re adorable,” she responded with a smile. She really was someone who was quite distracting, especially if they weren’t in public. It was good that he liked that about her though, as she had known a few people in the past that found it annoying at times. At least River didn’t. He put up with her nonsense, and seemed to actually enjoy it most of the time. That was important to her, she couldn’t be with someone who didn’t like the sort of nonsense she was always getting up to.
She suggested trying some of one another’s dishes, and he seemed to agree that this was the best course of action. ”Okay, now we just have to narrow it down to two things we think sound good instead of one,” she said with a nod. Slightly easier, but still a difficult decision she supposed. Oh well, the two of them would surely figure it out in no time at all.
