When it came to life, Phoenix did his best to have no ties to anything. He didn't have a bank account. He didn't have an apartment lease or a house in his name. Instead he lived where ever he could find some place to just sort of crash. Normally this involved him just sort of crashing somewhere near his place of business. There were showers at St. Mungo's and even though he wasn't a healer, no one really complained about him doing anything else like that. So instead of being overly too worried about anything else, he just did whatever seemed to work well for him. No one complained about much or what he did.
Or if they complained, no one did it in person.
However he really needed to figure out what to do with some of his extra money. While he wasn't fully sure what to do with it, he knew someone who might be able to help him out. This wouldn't be too hard, right? He'd made his way to Romeo's house without too much effort. And while the healer wasn't there, Nix wasn't overly concerned. Instead he just opened the door and wandered in. Without making too much sound, he walked in and took a shower. Once he fully felt clean, although he smelled heavily like Romeo, he curled up on the couch. Closing his eyes, he accepted that sleep would come. Maybe Romeo would care. Maybe he wouldn't. Nix wasn't overly concerned.

Romeo came home to some weird things at times, and so finding one of his coworkers sleeping on his couch wasn’t something that really phased him. It was more of a oh, well okay that’s a thing for him rather than any sort of big deal. His friends wandered in and crashed sometimes, and he had no issue with it. Ever since he had gotten away from his parents he was allowed to have people over and thus was kind of glad that people showed up unannounced to see him. Being forced to sneak out in order to see people over the summer had kind of turned him into a bit of a mess. Well alright, there were lots of things his parents had done that had turned him into a mess, but he wasn’t going to go there. Not right now, he had food to make because he was hungry. He imagined Phoenix probably was too actually.
Thus, he made mac n cheese. Could he have made something more difficult? Yes, but he didn’t feel like it right now. Besides, it was super easy to make a ton of mac n cheese and who didn’t like mac n cheese? He was pretty sure not liking such a basic food was a sin. Anyway, he fixed himself a bowl and put a lid on the pot to keep it warm before wandering out to his living room and sitting directly on Phoenix’s lap before putting his feet on the coffee table. Clearly he was getting quite comfortable while also making sure that it was almost guaranteed that his coworker would wake up. ”Have a nice nap?” he asked before taking another bite of the cheese and noodles.

Nix slept on Romeo's couch almost whenever he felt like it. So far Romeo had never said anything negative about it and he had a feeling the other male would use his words whenever he was ready for Nix to not be there. If he stopped by and Romeo had a girl over, he didn't mind leaving. It wasn't like it would devastate him to not have the couch to sleep on. Just...the couch was really nice. It was a lot better then his normal park bench.
Being woken up because someone decided to sit on him was just a weird way to wake up. But it was Romeo, so he wasn't going to complain. "Was. Not now." His brain was still working on trying to figure out words. He wanted some of Romeo's food. It smelled good. "Share?" And he opened his mouth expectantly. His friend couldn't let him starve.

Perhaps sitting on someone wasn’t the nicest way to wake them up, but as far as he was concerned there were far worse ways. Besides, Nix was on his couch and he wanted to sit and eat so clearly just sitting on the person in the way of that was the most logical course of action. Okay it was probably not the most logical course of action if he was being honest, but it made sense to him. He asked about the male having a nice nap and snorted a bit at the response. He did suppose that was fair. ”I suppose it’s hard to have a nice nap while awake,” he mused before eating more mac n cheese.
At the question of share he raised an eyebrow before sighing and sticking a forkful of cheesy goodness in his friend’s mouth. He handed him the bowl before going and getting himself a new one. Clearly if he was going to just open his mouth while asking to share he wouldn’t care about Romeo’s germs that much. He returned and sat on Nix’s lap again figuring the boy could eat mac n cheese while half sitting up without dying. If he did start choking or something though they were both healers and thus could fix that without issue. ”So, what’s new?” he asked curiously.

The more Romeo talked, the more Phoenix found himself getting away. This shouldn't be too difficult. He wasn't going to worry about too much else. Instead he'd just hang out with the other male. "I thought you were supposed to be working today?" Hence why he'd just crashed on the couch. Nix didn't care to just pick the lock and come on in. It wasn't like he'd have to worry about anything. At no point had Romeo told him to not do it. Or if he had, then Nix had just ignored it and forgotten about it.
Nix had sat up when Romeo went to get food. And so the Ravenclaw was now working on slowly eating. It was a lot better when he didn't have to worry about anything else. "Not a whole lot." He enjoyed being a hobo and being a hobo lifestyle. It was a lot easier for him, really. He didn't care that Romeo was sitting on him. "What about you?" Maybe Romeo was busy saving the world when Nix didn't see him. It was possible.

The question made Romeo chuckle a little. ”I did, I finished and am home now. How long have you been sleeping?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. Had Phoenix slept the entire day? He supposed he could do that if he was tired enough, but rarely did he sleep that long. Really, he didn’t sleep much at all especially if he had people over as they usually distracted him from such. Though, Nix wasn’t quite like that, Petra was though. She could be very distracting at times. Not that he was complaining, he didn’t really need all that much sleep he didn’t think. Tired was probably a personality trait of his, but that was fine, it hadn’t gotten him into trouble yet, so he wasn’t concerned.
Apparently not much was new with Nix, and that was fine, he was asked the same and shrugged. ”Nothing really, not a whole lot changes day to day once you’re out of school,” he said with a slight frown before eating more mac n cheese. ”I mean, I see new people every day, but I don’t remember much about them. Mostly they’re just in and out once I hand them a potion and that’s the end of it,” he stated idly. That was how it was supposed to be too. People weren’t supposed to be constantly sick, they were supposed to get better and go back to their daily lives. Of course, every so often he got long term illnesses that were harder or impossible to cure, but those weren’t frequent things.

How long had he been sleeping? That was the really rough question. "I thought only like an hour. But I guess I slept a lot longer." It was difficult to fully tell, since he refused to have a watch or anything else like that. Having a job meant he had money. But he didn't want to be tied down to anything. So he kept a job that kept him employeed without too much trouble at all. Everyone knew who he was and what he was about at work, so there was no trouble from the higher ups or anything like that.
Oh that was true. "Do you ever get tired of just seeing new people you don't really spend time with or anything like that?" Nix liked working in the tea shop. He could meet all sorts of people and it was interesting. Sure there were regulars who came in, but over all he didn't have to worry too much about it. It was always fun for him to find new people, though. He wasn't overly worried about much, but that could just be his general outlook on life.
Apparently Nix had no idea how long he had been sleeping, but it was very much longer than an hour if he didn’t realize Romeo had already gone to work and come back. ”I don’t remember you being here when I left, so less than nine hours?” he offered with a slight smile. That was something at least right? Perhaps he had slept most of the day away though, which meant Nix probably wouldn’t be sleeping tonight. Oh well, that was his own fault and Romeo wasn’t going to be staying up to entertain him either. Maybe Nix would be able to just go back to sleep though, he wouldn’t have been able to, but as Nix had still been blissfully sleeping when he walked in maybe the boy was just capable of sleeping for twenty hours a day.
The question he was asked made him raise an eyebrow. ”No, why?” he asked curiously. He really wasn’t much of a people person, so never talking to his patients again was fine with him. Besides, the few times people he knew came in it always ended up being somewhat awkward. He wasn’t particularly awkward usually, but sometimes he felt like those that came in and knew him felt awkward being treated by him. Though, perhaps that was because they had simply dismissed him during school or something. For him though, it was whatever, he didn’t hold grudges over something like that and just treated them before sending them off on their way again.

Oh nine hours? That wasn't bad. "Ugh. My head still kinda hurts. So I'd probably shave it down to like five hours?" That sounded about right, but he couldn't fully remember. He loved sleeping in Romeo's house. Especially when the weather was doing stuff. He didn't want to get rained on. He'd rather just dry off inside of Romeo's house. And so far, his friend had never said anything negative about it. "Do you have something magical to fix headaches yet?" Did healers have that ability? Really he hoped so, but he could be majorly wrong.
But he looked at Romeo carefully, thinking about it. It wasn't too difficult to think about. "I don't know. I was just thinking about it. People show up to where I am and they disappear. I sometimes wonder about their lives after we see each other." Maybe he was a weird person. He couldn't help it though. It was just sort of who he was. But maybe it would be good for him to just think about possibly getting a different job.

Apparently, he had only slept five. ”That’s a long nap, but short if you were trying to get a full night’s sleep,” he said, not sure which Nix had been trying to accomplish. Being it was the middle of the day he would have normally guessed nap, but as Romeo was basically half nocturnal himself perhaps he shouldn’t assume as much. ”Would you have preferred I let you continue sleeping?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. He had sort of unceremoniously woke him up by sitting on him after all. The next question made him shrug. ”Depends on why you have it, caffeine isn’t particularly magical, but generally it helps a whole lot,” he said idly. If it was from lack of sleep, well then the boy should probably just go back to sleep. If it was illness related then it would be cleared up with potions that took care of the full illness.
He hummed slightly at Nix’s response. ”I never really give a whole lot of thought to things that are meant to be temporary. People show up to get healed and then are on their way again once they’re fine. Such a short period of time with someone isn’t enough to generally make much of an impact,” he stated with a shrug. People came and went without him giving a whole lot of thought. It was rarely that he thought back to patients he had in the past if he only saw them once for a few moments. Though, admittedly, Petra had made quite the impression in that amount of time so every so often there was someone who went outside that sort of norm.

"It is what it is." That seemed to be Nix's life saying. After all, what else was he going to deal with or anything else like that? Sure, he needed to focus on other things. "And no. I'm good with you waking me up. I probably needed it." After all, he was crashing his friend's time and this was working out just fine for him. He could go ahead and figure other things out. "I don't know why it hurts. It just does hurt." Maybe there could be a way to make it stop? They could just chop his head off. That'd help with the pain...
But Romeo seemed so calm about this. Sure, it was only supposed to be a temporary thing. Sure. Logically Nix knew that. But still. There was something else going on in his brain. Instead of thinking about anything else, he was stuck on the idea of people leaving. "Are all people in lives that temporary?"

Apparently Nix didn’t mind being woken up, well that was good as Romeo hadn’t given much thought to it before going and sitting on the other boy to do just that. Now they both had mac n cheese though, and clearly that was worth waking up for. Though, he would argue that all of his cooking was worth waking up for, but he might be biased in that statement. He didn’t know why his head hurt? Well, it could be countless things, though at this point he was going to go out on a limb and say it wasn’t sleep deprivation. ”Where does it hurt exactly? Honestly, you might just be dehydrated that causes headaches too,” he said before stuffing more cheese noodles into his own mouth. Maybe Nix should start with trying to drink some water and see if it helped.
Then things seemed to take a turn for the darker and he was asked if all people in lives were temporary, and he shrugged. ”I mean, technically life itself is temporary, so I guess the people in it are too,” he said idly. ”That’s a smidge dark though. People are as temporary as you let them be, if you want someone to be in your life permanently, you have to put for the effort for it to happen,” he said with a shrug. How had their conversation gotten so serious? He was usually allergic to serious conversations.
