Lydia was used to coming over and finding her brother passed out on a couch or the floor or once she even found him on the stairs. How he had gotten there neither of them were really sure, but she wasn’t one to ask too many questions about his weird sleeping habits. Those strange habits were part of why she had inevitably moved out. She appreciated him taking her in after their parents died and keeping her through school, but since graduated she had discovered that living with him in a house that wasn’t a mansion was much more difficult. She loved seeing her brother all the time of course, but she didn’t love having a room next to his. He wasn’t exactly quiet when he had friends over and well she needed sleep or she’d end up trying to poison someone in the morning. Thus, she had moved out and gotten her own apartment on her own. It was much quieter certainly, and she could keep all manner of plant without worrying about accidentally poisoning her brother too.
Anyway, what she wasn’t expecting when she walked into her brother’s house was a man that was not him passed out on the couch alone. She did suppose her brother could have gotten up and gone somewhere leaving the guy there, but the guy was clothed so perhaps he wasn’t one of her brother’s boyfriends. He had those right? She was pretty sure he’d had a boy toy or two around in the past. Upon closer inspection she realized, by the name tag, that this was actually one of his coworkers. Oh, well okay that still didn’t explain why he was passed out on the couch while Romeo was nowhere to be found. Did he just wander in off the street? She reached over and poked him on the nose a few times. Sure, waking him up like that was probably rude, but at least she wasn’t just jumping on him. “Um. Who are you and why are you sleeping on my brother’s couch?” she asked him once he actually started stirring.
