The feeling of shock and disbelief still consumed her, but considering that the incident had happened last night and she'd already had some time between then and now to sort of process it, Belle had managed to keep herself calm and collected to an extent. At least, enough to calmly write an owl letter to Geoff before apparating to the Leaky Cauldron. She had requested to see him in the afternoon because she needed to talk to him about something, though she hadn't really said what. But knowing Geoff he wouldn't question her and would be there to listen to whatever she needed to say.
Sitting at a table in the Leaky Cauldron, she waited for him to come. She hoped he would appear soon. Even if her heart was breaking over a dumb guy two years her junior and that was really all she could think about, she tried to be positive and remind herself that she was fortunate to have a good number of friends with whom she could confide in and seek solace with. Belle didn't want to be annoying, but at the moment she felt that she was in dire need of that comfort. She didn't feel like being stoic right now. She hated being vulnerable, but right now she just let herself be weak since the pain was too hard. She desperately wanted immediate relief--how she hated being sad and just wanted to kill the pain in an instant--and hopefully talking to Geoff would help.
The young woman closed her eyes and took several deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself. She could cry any moment, what with her thoughts destroying her inside, but she still had the sanity to know that sobbing in the middle of the pub probably wasn't the best thing to do, and she needed her wits about her when she spoke to Geoff. Maybe she would end up crying as she poured her heart out to her friend, but for now it was best if she didn't start doing that even before he came.
