Peter didn't argue, because Leo was right and for once he didn't have the energy to protest. Suddenly, he found a burst of energy at Leo's next words. He quickly rotated to look up at his boyfriend. "Really? Where do you want to go?"

The sudden movement startled him a little, but Leo much preferred that to Peter being so sad and upset. Biting down on his bottom lip, he thought about it for a moment. "I think that as long as you're there too, I could be happy anywhere," he said honestly.
Peter sat up fast, which led to a blood rush and lightheadedness that made him gasp and had him lying down again, body toward Leo, head back in his lap, and face looking up. "I can't tell if you're being serious right now," he said, trying to keep his cool. "I would run away with you in a heartbeat."

Feeling the corners of his mouth creeping up, Leo looked at his boyfriend. It was nice to know that even after shouting at each other they could just fall back into routine. It didn't mean anything was fixed, but it meant they could still fix it. "I'm starting to think it wouldn't be a bad idea, except that we'd probably starve. Neither of us are old enough to work yet."
Peter reached up to guide Leo's hand back to stroking his hair. "We'll figure it out," he said confidently. "Someone will let us work for them. If not, I can steal what we need to survive and...and...." It was starting to sound like a terrible idea, mostly because he didn't have an "and."
"I'll be sixteen soon. That's basically an adult, so then I can find somewhere to work and we can find a cheap apartment somewhere." Peter was more than happy to work for the both of them for as long as he had to, and even longer. He shifted to put his face against Leo's stomach.

"Could wait until you're seventeen so we know it'll actually work," he mused. "I know that's far away but..." Maybe then they'd have a solid plan, because honestly Leo was so on board with running away right now. He was tired of dealing with his father and all of that mess. He just wanted to be happy with the person he loved most.
Peter threw his arms around Leo. "Do you mean it? If you mean it, then--then yes. Yes. Next year we can start looking for an apartment or something, and I'll start looking for jobs...."
There was still a strange feeling in his gut, but he felt lighter. He felt excited. If they ran away together, then Leo wouldn't have to worry about being arranged to marry Lyanna. He wouldn't even have to worry about his father at all.
All the times he'd told Leo and meant it, all the times Leo said no--they were all just distant memories now. Peter was so happy that he could cry, so he did cry, quietly. "I love you," he said for the thousandth time. He couldn't remember the last time he looked forward to something so much. "We should do something. Go get food or go for a walk or just cuddle in bed." All of them were great options, as long as Leo was on board.

"I love you too," he returned with a smile. Planning for the future scared him to death, but there was also something exhilarating about it. He never wanted to let go of Peter and this seemed like the perfect way to keep it that way. Assuming it worked out. Anything could happen in a year. Leo would just have to keep his hopes up. "Cuddle on the bed," he decided. "Everything else is too far and I'm not sure my legs are working."
Peter sat up, more slowly this time, and scrambled to his feet while keeping his hands out for Leo. The bed would be a lot more comfortable than the hard floor, and he could hold on to Leo properly, which he very much wanted and needed in the moment. He pulled them onto the bed, but rather than settle in properly, he fell backward with his legs dangling over the edge and his arms out to the side.

At least Peter seemed receptive of the bed idea. That was useful. Leo really didn't feel like moving currently so it was clearly the best option. Even getting to his feet felt like too much and he flopped face down as soon as he was sure doing so wouldn't hurt him, rolling to be touching Peter as soon as possible.
Peter giggled when Leo fell face forward on the bed. When Leo rolled closer, Peter rolled onto his side to wrap both of his arms around Leo. "I hope you know that none of this changes the fact that you're the best," he teased quietly before planting a kiss on Leo's skin wherever was easiest. Today had been a strange and unhappy mess, but at least it was ending better.

the biggest idiot in the world
LOTS OF WORDS
"I'm pretty sure it does mean I'm not the best," Leo protested, though the words were muffled due to him still being mostly face down on the bed. Being close to Peter was nice though, so he wasn't really going to complain too much. "S'okay though. I'll just be your idiot instead."
Peter giggled and gave Leo a squeeze. "It's going to be okay," he said quietly but confidently. "Now you know what it's like to be the dumb one." He was grinning, even though Leo wouldn't see. He reached over to grab one of Leo's hands into his own. "I'll always love you no matter what, and I'll always be there for you. Even when I'm upset."
