Given the fact that the cold weather was approaching - which was something that Juliet absolutely hated - she was trying to soak up as much of the warm-ish weather while she could. She had gathered the bit of homework she had left to complete for the week, as well as her songbook, and headed out to the Lake this late Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, given that it was nearly dinner time, and Hogwarts students tended to be fairly food motivated, she'd find some peace out there.
Not that she minded the company of people, not really. it's just that....well, people seemed to dislike her company. Call it annoying, call it bossy, controlling....her personality just didn't always mesh with that of others. Strolling down to the Lakeshore, she spotted another figure. The blonde head was vaguely familiar, but Juliet wasn't good with names. Even after four years, she didn't know many in her year. Unable to help herself, she sort of trailed behind the boy, perhaps coming a little closer than was normally socially acceptable. Spotting some music notes on the paper, she made a small, high-pitched sound of excitement. "Are you writing music?"

Kameron wasn't as outdoorsy as most people probably thought he might be. It seemed that most outgoing type people liked to be outside, but he much preferred to sit inside unless the mood struck him. Mostly he just used outside to be inspired for new music. It was a good way to get away from other people and also nature was just good for inspiration. There were so many different things to find in nature, ranging from soft to fierce. It was really a useful tool.
Today he was feeling a bit stuck so Kam packed up his music writing stuff and headed out to the lake. Maybe a quick walk by the water would help him out. It was't cold yet, so it would hopefully be a nice trip outside. And he'd take his book in case it did help rather than have to hurry back and risk the moment going away by the time he'd climbed all the stairs. Solid plan.
It seemed like being out by the lake was helping, because soon enough Kam was scribbling out ideas on a blank page next to his last song. Until he heard a squeal from behind him. Jumping slightly, the pen left an ugly mark at the end of the word he'd just scrawled on the page. Turning with a startled expression, he regarded the girl behind him. '....yes."
Juliet didn't even realize at first how socially awkward she was being until she caught sight of the boy's expression. It seemed to be less than amused. Still, she backed off only slightly. It was very rare to find anyone who understood and appreciated music here at Hogwarts, and she sort of felt like she needed to seize the moment. Even if it was weird at first.
She tried to offer a smile, wondering if that would smooth over the situation at all. "I write music too. And play the guitar. Do you play music too, or just write it? Not many people here at Hogwarts seem to be familiar with it. It's not as exciting as magic, I guess." She said, babbling a little as she spoke. She was just excited.

This really was the last thing he wanted when he was already stuck in a rut. The whole point to coming outside was to get away from distraction and people. Not find them. All the same, he wasn't too terribly fussed. The girl seemed to like something he was passionate about. Maybe they could throw around ideas and he'd get out of his rut. That would be pretty cool.
"I play guitar," he replied. This was definitely shaping up to be something good. Finding someone that was so coincidentally into the same things he was was a bit weird though. They were at a school for magic. People who did music and the like were rare, at least ones on the level Kameron was, because it seemed like a few people played. Just not so intensely.
