Addie had come to the ministry with Avery to visit her very tall and very pretty cousin, but she grew bored of that fast and while the adult people were talking she had decided to explore a little. Now, she was sure someone would notice her and send her back without issue, so she wasn’t really worried about getting lost or anything. A child wandering around the Ministry was pretty obvious after all. Until she was sent back though she would just explore and hopefully nobody got too mad about it. It wasn’t her fault she was left entirely unsupervised after all.
Anyway, she wandered into a somewhat important looking office and discovered that there were just so many snow globes. She had never seen so many in one place before, and she assumed they all belonged to the man who was behind the desk in the office so she skipped up to him and tugged on his sleeve. “Are all these snow globes yours? They’re so pretty! Where did you get them all?” she asked firing off questions as one would expect from a child her age. “Do you collect them? How long have you been collecting them? Which one is your favorite?” she said not really giving him much chance to answer between questions. He was probably confused by the sudden child in his office, but anyone who collected snow globes couldn’t be too stuck up right?

Snowglobes were great. They were pretty to watch, they were sparkly and made everyone in a better mood. Even Camden. Not that Orville had seen that happening but he assumed he had and nothing was going to waiver this decision. The work for today had been more or less boring and Orville had excused himself from the meetings with the department heads because it was boring and he didn't want to listen boring talks about the British and their problems. It just wasn't his problem. Well it was but Orville figured they would be able to handle themselves. Especially since Max was in charge and he was capable enough to deal with silly little abductions. No big. Orville was now returning from the ice cream shop because he had been craving for one since this morning. After all, he was the president and he could whatever he wanted. Even if that meant going out and getting a ice cream.
Orville was happily sitting behind his desk, eating that delicious ice cream and wondering if people needed him to get back to work. Sure he had plenty of things to do and plenty of events he needed to attend but it was just too simply too nice of a day to do work. Orville had told his assistant that he wasn't going to be doing anything else but walk in the park or sit in his office for a bit. The look on his assistans face had been horrified but Orville Rotschild had been too busy licking the vanilla from the ice cream to notice this.
The president hardly noticed the door opening or anyone coming in for that matter before a voice, no matter how tiny that made him jump. He was still licking off his lips from his the melted dessert when he looked down. It never did occur to him to ask the question to himself that why was there a little girl in his office. What mattered the most was the fact that the girl had asked about snowglobes and people usually didn't do that. " Oh yes." Replied Orville. " All of these - " his hand waved around the office that was quite literally covered of sparkling snowglobes. " Are mine and they are from all around the world." He also looked around before getting up and walking to the other side of the room where his favorite globe was. " This, is my favorite. It's about Christmas and Christmas is my favorite time of the year." Orville nodded. " Do you see anything you like?"
There were snow globes everywhere and Addie had questions about all of them. Maybe he would tell her where he got each one. That would probably take a while, but she had time for it. Well, she had time until Avery came to get her. It might be a while though so she had to pass the time somehow right? The man jumped when she started talking and she realized he apparently hadn’t realized she was there. Was he focused on something? He didn’t seem to mind the interruption too much though as he was answering her questions. All of the globes were his, and they were from all around the world. “You travel a lot then? Or do people bring them back for you?” she asked curious as to if he had been all those places or if people just brought them back from the places for him. With the vast number of them, it seemed like a lot of places for him to visit. How was he just able to visit all those places?
He showed her his favorite globe. It was pretty. “Christmas is very nice,” she agreed with a nod. It was a pretty snow globe too, all sparkly and snowy. He asked if she saw one she liked then and she looked around more carefully at all the globes that covered the room before pointing to one that was kind of high on a shelf. “That one, the one with the sparkly castle,” she said with a smile. It was very pretty, and definitely caught her attention. She wondered if it was filled with glitter or if it was the fake snow that was typically used in snow globes. She had seen ones with glitter in the past, and she felt a bit partial to them just because they were so sparkly and she was very fond of sparkly things.

No, it simply did not occur to Orville that perhaps there was a reason why a little girl was in his office because a. He did not lock his door and b. The girl was lost. Either way, Orville wasn't really thinking. Then again, when had you ever heard of Orville Rothschild actually thinking things? Exactly, never. He mostly did with his heart and by feeling. He had a good feeling about this and it wasn't often when someone actually wanted to come stop by and stay in his office. Everyone else seemed to be too busy with their work and hardly ever stayed long. Sad, yes but Orville was used to it by now. The little girl questioned about something and the bearded old man smiled. “ Oh a bit of both.” He mused. “ One day, I hope to leave all of these to my own children.” That sentence seemed to come out more sad than intended and Orville didn't notice the fleeting sensation of grief; the old man didn't have any children. Or at least anyone he knew. Perhaps his successor would inherit all of the snowglobes then. Or he could donate them to charity. It didn't matter in the end, now did it. People didn't like Orville hovering about, being weird so all of the snowglobes would most likely end up in the dumpster. Much like Orville Rotschild’s own heritage. The last living descendant of his own family. How sad was that.
The girl pointed out the one with the castle and with a wave of his hand, Orville summoned it to him. “ This one? It is pretty isn't it?” He smiled. “ Here.” He offered it to the little girl. “ This one is from Romania. The castle you see in there is a replication of the once great castle that was owned by one of the richest, royalty back then.” He explained. That family was also gone. Their memory faded and the only thing was left was the snowglobe and old stories.
“ Have you been in Romania?” Orville asked smiling.
Addie was very fond of this man and his snow globes. She didn’t know his name, but that was okay she could just call him Sir snow globe. He would be okay with that right? She was pretty sure he would be since he seemed to like the baubles so much. He was an adult, and seemed to be an important one since he got such a big office. And seeing as he worked with the Ministry he couldn’t be bad right? Surely that was the case, so she wasn’t concerned with being afraid of him, besides who could be afraid of a man who collected snow globes anyway? She asked if he had visited all the places or if he had some brought back for him and apparently it was a bit of both. “Have you visited a lot of places?” she asked him curiously. It could be half and half, or it could be that he had bought most of them himself which meant he traveled lots. “Do you have lots of kids?” she asked him with a tilt of her head. How old were they? Were they her age? Maybe she could play with them if they were? That would be fun right? She thought so.
Anyway, he asked about which one she liked best and she pointed to the one with the castle. He summoned it, which was a neat trick and she moved to get a closer look at the castle as it was offered to her. She picked it up carefully and gave it a little shake. She wanted to see what sort of glitter or snow it had. “It’s very pretty, I like castles,” she said with a smile and a nod as he explained where it was from and some history behind it. “Is the castle still standing? Is it still this pretty? Did you get to see the castle?” she asked him, firing off a million and a half more questions for him. Maybe she could talk her daddy into going to see the castle with her if it was still around. If not, well she’d settle for seeing the snow globe of it she supposed. He asked if she had been to Romania and she shook her head. She didn’t even know where that was. “Only England and here with Miss Avery,” she said with a slight smile. As she was small she hadn’t gone very many places yet.

Had Orville visited a lot of places? That question was very interesting because Orville had indeed been around the world. Most of it happened during his youth but he still got around these days. Obviously most of them was for his work because the president needed to meet all sorts of heads of states, tribe leaders and such. Orville brushed his beard before replying. " Ah." He mused. " When I was younger, I visited far away lands." Orville nodded. " Not so much anymore. You see, I'm old." The president pointed at his beard. He didn't feel old though. On the contrary, he felt youthful and wouldn't mind doing some auror work on the side. Obviously he was not allowed to do so any longer unless he chose his successor so it was still out of the question.
The little had hit a nerve at the question of children. Orville had no children. He was alone. He had hoped for a son long time ago but when he realized there was no one, he had given up on that. " Oh no, I don't have any children." Orville said shrugging. " I do have two dogs though." Oh. Where did those two go again?
" Do you have any pets?" Asked Orville curiously. " I think the castle is still there. It's old but it's still there." He told nodding remembering seeing it years ago. " When you grow up, you can surely go there by yourself."
Had sir snow globes been all around the world? Was that how he got all the snow globes? She was starting to think that was during the case. Unless of course he went to a gift shop down the street and picked them all up. That seemed unlikely though, as the one she was holding was actually from Romania so he clearly had to have been at least there. He said that when he was younger he visited far places but not now because he was old. “You’re not that old, but I guess since you have work it’s hard to travel as much,” she said with a slight smile. “How old were you when you traveled?” she asked curiously. Maybe he had been a teenager? Or maybe he had been her age and traveled with his parents? Though, wouldn’t his parents have had work too? So maybe in between working here and graduating school he had traveled. Or perhaps he had a different job where he traveled a lot before this one.
He said he didn’t have kids, but then if he wanted to leave snow globes to them he should probably acquire some right? “Oh, do you count your dogs as your kids then? Are you leaving your snow globes to them?” she asked him curiously. Though, admittedly, she had no idea what dogs would do with snow globes, but it was the thought that counted. “What are their names?” she asked him with a smile. Dogs should have nice names right? He asked about her own pets and she smiled. “Yeah! I have a cat,” she said with a smile. She was glad the castle was still there though, that meant someday she might be able to see it. “Hopefully I get the chance to,” she agreed with a nod when he said she’d be able to go there herself when she was old enough.

The girl had a point and she was quite smart to begin with. Orville was quite impressed. Oh yes. He had worked hard all these years to achieve what he had now. He hadn't just gotten to be president because he wanted to. It had required a lot of work and hours and hours of dedication. " Yes, well I still travel sometimes." Orville shrugged his shoulders. " That's the best part about being the president." Well, that and the fact that Orville could hug everyone every day if he wanted to and people didn't push him away. Hugs were important, after all.
Leaving all the snowglobes to Dragon and Daisy? That made sense. Those two dogs would be good caretakers to all those magnificent snowglobes. Or perhaps not. Perhaps Orville should leave all of them to Caspian. Yes. Good plan. " Good plan, I'll leave all of these to them." Orville said happily. " Their names are Dragon and Daisy. They should be here around somewhere." Yes, well, MACUSA was huge and the dogs could've been anywhere. " A cat, how marvelous!" Exclaimed Orville. He was no fan of cats but they were still warm and fluffy. " Does your cat have a name?"
Apparently sir snow globes still traveled sometimes, so at least he got new ones still from time to time. It would be dreadfully boring if he never got any more for his collection, though she did suppose it might be problematic for the person who ended up with them if there were just an infinite number of them. After all, they would need somewhere to display them all right? Then he said he was the president and she blinked at him. She did suppose that explained why his office was so nice. “Ooooh, you’re president? That’s nifty,” she said with a smile at him. She hadn’t realized that when she walked in, as she hadn’t actually read the name or description on the door before just walking in and finding all the nice globes of snow around the room along with a strange man who had ice cream.
He said it was a good plan to leave the globes to the dogs who were apparently named Dragon and Daisy. That was cute! “What nice doggy names,” she said with a nod. She approved of them, seemed like perfectly good doggy names to her. “Oh, they’re here? You’re allowed to bring your doggies to work? Can I meet them?” she asked with a grin. There she went with the millions of questions at once again. Then he asked for her cat’s name and she smiled. “Her name is Pudding,” she said with a smile. She was such a nice puddy cat, and she loved her pud pud.

Orville gleamed from pride. He also found the word 'nifty' to be his new favourite word. He also told himself that he should start using that word more often because it just sounded so..Nifty. " Yes, very nifty!" Orville nodded. " Yet a little boring sometimes." If it wasn't for his dogs and Caspian( and Camden for that matter ) things would be simply unbearable in MACUSA. He'd love to have Max and Caspian back in action but they were both too..Busy. Had Orville also thought about kidnapping them? Maybe. Okay maybe not.
Talk about Dragon and Daisy, they usually followed Orville everywhere he went but for some reason, those two rascals were nowhere to be seen. Now the little girl was asking to meet them and Orville looked around him. " Uh." He began. " Well, I'm not sure where they are but - " Orville looked up, let out a high pitched whistle that normally worked on the two silly things and waited. " - It doesn't mean I won't try." He could only hope those two dorks were not sitting front of Caspian's door, waiting for Captain so they could play with him. " Of course we can bring our pets!" Once again the older man beamed. " I wanted everyone to be able to bring their dogs to work!" It seemed that people liked that idea. Dogs in the workplace reduced stress anyway and it was nice to have them around instead of home where they'd just get bored. Soon enough though, Dragon and Daisy sprinted in from the door and immediately noticed the small human. They ran up to her, sniffing and wagging their tails. New human! How cool! Small human! YES!
" Pudding!" Repeated Orville, watching the two dogs and wondering if he should rename one of them as Pudding. " It's a great name! Did you come up with that by yourself?"
Mister Snowglobes seemed to have a very nifty job as president, and she was glad that she had accidentally wandered into his office. Hopefully she would get to meet him again after all this despite having to go home to England soon enough. Actually, she should probably get back to Miss Avery at some point. He agreed that his job was nifty, but also a little boring. “Why boring?” she asked, curious now. Was it because he had lots of meetings to attend that didn’t let him travel? Maybe that was why he didn’t travel as much anymore? Because he had papers to sign and rules to make. Making rules sounded like it might be boring, rules were the worst.
She asked to meet the dogs and he seemed a smidge lost for a moment as they weren’t in here. Then he whistled for them. “Oh, okay, I can wait,” she said with a smile while he discussed how he thought it was best that they got to bring their pets to work. “Do the puppies ever get into fights with one another?” she asked curiously. Not all dogs were friendly after all. Maybe those dogs didn’t get brought to work? That would make sense. Then suddenly there were dogs sniffing at her and she held out her hands for them to sniff before petting them. She was glad she had two hands so that she could pet both at the same time.
She told him the name of her cat and smiled as he called it a great name and asked about if she came up with it herself. “I did come up with it myself. She’s a good puddy cat,” she said with a nod while still petting the puppies.
