The forbidden forest was the greatest unknown in Iola's life. She wanted to get to see the forest, but she found herself terrified about going on in there. She took a deep breath and....stood there at the edge of the forest. Honestly, she needed to do something before a prefect or someone like that came to her. They would get her into trouble and then her parents would be beyond angry with her over the whole ordeal.
Or well, her mom would be upset. Her dad might not even notice. There was a chance her dad didn't even know who she was. But rather then dealing with that, she stood at the edge of the forest. She swayed without too much trouble. Maybe she'd be able to gather some amount of courage? She just seemed to be stuck thinking about everything.

Ion enjoyed running, and so he did it every day. It burned off all his excess energy and let him sleep like a normal human instead of just running for days straight like he seemed to do otherwise. Maybe that was just called insomnia and he should seek a professional about it, but for now running off his excess energy seemed to work. Idly, he sometimes wondered if running through the forbidden forest would make things more interesting, but at the same time he didn’t want to get kicked out and have to go to another new school. He was pretty sure he was running out of school options, and he really didn’t want to learn French on top of the languages he already knew and was being forced to learn. Thus, he stayed out of the forest for now.
As he ran along the line of trees he saw a girl that was a bit younger than him standing by the edge. He slowed his run to a stop and stood behind her with a tilt of his head as she seemed to just be staring into the forest and swaying. ”What are you doing?” he asked her curiously. Was she waiting for someone who had gone in to explore? Had she seen something and was now trying to get a better look without going in? He didn’t know, but perhaps she would tell him.

Iola wanted to be brave. She wanted to be a good Gryffindor and a good person. But this didn't seem to be going well for her. Maybe if she moved, it would be okay? She could take a step into the forest. Everything was going to be just fine. Except it felt like her legs were filled with lead. Instead of being able to do anything, she stood there. Her eyes darted around while she tried to try to figure everything else out.
"I wanted to go into the forest." But nothing happened. Instead she just stood there. "I've never been inside there. It's...." Her voice trailed off. Was he going to get her into trouble? She sort of doubted it. While she didn't know her, she didn't think that he was actually going to turn her in or anything else like that. It seemed far more like he might know what's in the forest. Maybe he'd gone in there before? "Have you ever walked into there?" Maybe he'd be wiling to go exploring with her or something like that.

Iola seemed to be just standing there staring, and he really wasn’t sure why. She was a Gryffindor, so he was kind of surprised she hadn’t just gone running straight into the forest with reckless abandon. That was what the lion house was known for wasn’t it? Doing things without really thinking through the consequences? At least, those had been the rumors he heard before going to the school so he assumed that was the case with the majority of those sorted into the house. Anyway, she said she wanted to go into the forest, so what was stopping her? ”Are you afraid you’ll get in trouble if you do? Since students aren’t supposed to?” he asked her curiously. That was a fair reason if that was the case right? Getting kicked out of school for ignoring the rules would be horribly inconvenient after all.
She said she’d never been inside, and seemed like maybe she was about to give a reason when she trailed off. He looked into the forest to see if there were any creatures lurking near the entrance. He didn’t see any, but he supposed that didn’t mean they weren’t there and couldn’t see the two of them. She asked if he had ever walked into the forest and he shrugged. ”No, I’ve thought about detouring my run through it a few times, but forest is kind of rough terrain to run through unless you watch your feet the whole time,” he said with a slight frown.
