Caitlin had a very important meeting with a very important person. She was antsy too, which meant staying seated was replaced by pacing back and forth in the waiting area. She was well ahead of her appointment time, so she hardly blamed the Head Auror for not calling her into his office yet. He might not even have been there yet--maybe he was out doing auror things.
She would wait as patiently as possible, because she was a patient person.

Kody was pretty sure he had people for taking care of citizens seeking to speak with an Auror that weren't him. That way it was easier to field stuff that he needed to actually deal with and he didn't get bogged down with things that his other capable Aurors could deal with. However, apparently someone was able to get around that, which meant it was probably important, but he was still pretty sure he had people for that.
Glancing at the clock and sighing, he finished up the bit of paperwork he was working on and got to see if this person believed in punctuality. Opening the office door, he was vaguely surprised to see just who it was that would be meeting with him that day though he supposed that he shouldn't be. "Please step into my office," he invited the waiting woman.

The moment the Head Auror opened his door, Caitlin turned on the spot and looked at him with a smile. "Hello there," she chirped, and at the invitation, she wasted no time in entering Kody's office.
"I hope the day finds you well, Mr. Belanger." Resisting the urge to continue pacing, she stood very still on the spot and grasped her hands together at her waist. "Much has been going on. You have no doubt been very busy."

When he'd been in school, Professor James hadn't been his favorite teacher by any stretch of imagination, though he had liked her class. But he had also been a parent-parroting little shit in school and she was one of those people they had deemed unacceptable. As an adult now, he still wasn't entirely sure what he thought of her though.
"Yes, I am very busy," he replied, tone suggesting that her being there was hindering that. However he wouldn't straight up so say because appearances were important and the interpretation of a tone was unimportant. "What is it that I can do for you today?"
"We should go into your office," Caitlin suggested almost immediately, offering a calming, patient smile. "We both have much to discuss about the safety of the Wizarding World, you being the Head Auror and me being the Headmistress of Hogwarts. I would like to discuss arrangements with you."

Kody wasn't really sure why this wasn't being handled by the Head of the whole department instead of himself, but it wasnt really his place to question these things. He would just deal with it now and go gripe about it later. He moved aside to motion her into the office. "After you then," he said a little flatly.
Caitlin entered the office and waited for Kody to enter too, hoping the door would be shut behind him. "I'm sure you're eager for me to leave, so let's get right to it," she said swiftly. She didn't bother to sit, preferring to stay on her feet in case she had to move quickly, or pace.
"I would like to know more about what you know about these...disappearances. You'll say, 'I can't tell you anything,' and you might even suggest that I knew that already. Of course I know that. Regardless, the safety of my students is paramount, and we need to work together to bring whoever the hell is doing all of this down."
