Kendall lay staring up at the ceiling. Emmet was out on a mission. The mission was to find a kebab for her, because she was absolutely famished. He had been gone for longer than she expected though, which probably meant that he had gotten distracted one way or another. To be fair, she had sent him in the direction of Winter Wonderland. But it was late in the evening, and everything would be closing soon. She needed that kebab.
In an effort to distract herself, Kendall turned on the computer that Emmet had forced her to purchase. She didn't really understand it, but she could use it to play music and that was good enough for her. Kendall hated not knowing how to do things, and kept trying to learn. She was progressing, slowly but surely. For now, she turned on the music and laid back down, staring again at the ceiling. These hunger pangs were starting to get really annoying and painful. Increasingly and increasingly painful...
With a groan, Kendall realised there was a wet spot between her legs. Wait a moment...
Kendall sat up at once. At some point, the hunger had turned into contractions. How was she still not used to these subtle differences in pain? As quickly as she could manage, Kendall rose, picking up her wand from the bedside table as she did so. She sent a patronus to Emmet with a simple message - She's coming. Kendall pulled on a dressing gown and quickly packed a little bag for herself. She was feeling increasingly ill prepared for this moment. She definitely wasn't up for apparating and couldn't stand portkeys or floo powder on a good day. The only thing for it was muggle transportation.
Kendall groaned in discomfort, then waddled out of her flat into the street. She hailed a cab and told him the address she needed. She had long since figured out muggle money and promised a good tip if he got her there fast. Eyeing her swollen belly, the driver nodded and sped off without further question. It was lucky that St Mungo's was near, because another moment in that wretched car would have made her sick. She paid quickly and ignoring the confused look from the driver at her choice of location, started towards the window display of the old department store.
The moment she appeared in St Mungo's, Kendall was swarmed by trainee healers ushering her to a room where she would be more comfortable. "Is there anyone we should call? The father? Parents?" they asked, and Kendall shook her head. Emmet would know to come here. It was a matter of how fast this little girl would be coming to meet them.
