timing: January 2012
Christmas had come and gone, and Lottie could hardly believe the amount of work she had as the new term started. The pressure was mounting to do well, both in the classroom and on the pitch. Lottie had finally managed to get a good camaraderie throughout her team. She enjoyed practices with her team, spending time with her team, and working hard with her team. There was one team member in particular that Lottie liked to be with. She only wished that Damien would realise that she was right here all along, working hard alongside him. Didn't he realise that they would be good together?
It was just too much. After a morning in the library, Lottie settled down at the Hufflepuff table one miserable January day only to see Arkham fawning over Damien. Abruptly, she got up and strode purposefully from the great hall. Her stomach rolled unpleasantly. All she wanted was to be good enough for him. She was one of the top students in her year, quidditch captain and prefect. And still, it wasn't enough.
Lottie made her way down to the quidditch pitch for some peace. No one would come out in weather like this. The rain pissed down in sheets, the sky a dull grey. She entered the locker room, but the desire to fly left her. She sat on a bench, looking down at her legs. She had put quite a bit of weight on... it was weird to see padding on her thighs. She poked her leg and frowned. It felt... wrong. Lottie ran her fingers along her trousers, then touched her arms. They were bigger too. Grimacing, Lottie critically examined her body. The imperfections were so apparent, it was no wonder that she couldn't garner his attraction.
Feeling more desperate than she had in ages, Lottie dashed over to the locker room toilets. She bent over the toilets and forced the day's meals out of her stomach as she had done so many times in the past, tears streaming down her cheeks in her moment of weakness.
