Lyanna had done a lot of thinking over the holidays. Becoming an animagus had always been something that she thought would would be fun. The ability to turn into an animal would have its uses. And well, the tranfiguration challenge was something that appealed to her. She had always loved the subject, it was the one she excelled most in, and to take it even further... she wanted that.
It also couldn't be ignored that she was an incredibly ambitious teenager, who was perhaps, biting off more than she could chew. Over the Christmas break she had gotten one of her family members to agree to teach her occlumency and legilimency. If nothing else, she had ambition.
The problem was finding Professor James to ask her. Being the only animagus that Lyanna knew, she seemed like the best bet. And Lyanna liked her old transfiguration professor. But being the headmistress it was not as though she was conveniently around to talk to.
Heading out of the Great Hall into the Entrance Hall, she spotted the headmistress. She moved quickly over to her. "Good afternoon, Professor James."
Caitlin had just come into the castle from a walk on the grounds, snow pillowed over her cloak and look of concerned reflection on her face, when Lyanna Everhart approached her. A respectful and talented student, Caitlin had delighted in having her in her class, so remembering her name was simple enough and changing her expression to a soft smile took minimal effort.
"Miss Everhart," she greeted. "How may I assist you?"
