Lark was used to climbing roofs and riding through the woods horseback. Her parents encouraged and she never got hurt because she'd learned well through her older sisters and brother. Hogwarts, however, seemed to think there was something dangerous about little girls trying to sit on their windowsill of their dormitory. She was perfectly balanced-- She wasn't just going to fall out, but the others didn't seem to have as much confidence in herself as she did.
So instead of being able to look out the stars from her bedroom window she found herself sneaking out of the dorm to the next best thing: The Astronomy Tower. She'd become quite good at this, too, in the past few weeks when she decided she had enough was enough. Lark was still just tiny enough she could hide behind a suit of armor when a professor prefect past. And she'd learned a shortcut that led quickly up from Gryffindor Tower to the Astronomy tower itself.
She made quick work of it tonight, grin widening as s he sneaked closer to the staircase. In a dash she was up those, too, and it's only when she's safely into open air, the door shut behind her, that Lark gives a giggle of relief. She didn't consider herself a rule breaker, but some things were just too important to not have the best view of-- Stars were one of them.
Lark skipped a few steps further onto the tower itself before throwing her arms out to spin, spin, spin. Head tilted back to watch the stars move as if a film she gave another small giggle. For a moment she's lost in the triumph of escape and the beauty of the heavens above.
