Eagle doesn't enjoy hanging around in the dorm room very much. It's not that he doesn't try to get on with his roommates-- Oh, no, he certainly tries to be polite and friendly. But after years of sisters barging into his room at all hours of the day he didn't like to lock himself up in a room where he was easily... Attainable. Especially not when, even at school, there were sprawling grounds he could lost in for hours. He may believe he's not quite Eastman enough, but he doesn't lack their penchant for the outdoors at all.
In spite of his aversion to the room he does, of course, have to sleep there among other things. Today he'd decided to close most of the curtains around his bed and turn the pages in an adventure book. Beside him lay his charms book forgotten for the moment in the tell of a boy befriending a dragon. Every now and then he would break off a piece of candy bar and suck on it until it was gone. For his part the boy was perfectly content spending the rest of the day like this.
Except he's aware there's another in their room as well. And it's three chapters in that he pauses to pull back the curtain and look toward the other bed. Eagle chewed on his bottom lip for a moment before swinging his feet over the edge of his bed and standing up. Instantly his hand moved for the chocolate bar he was eating and he lumbered his way over to the other boy.
"Oliver," Gold Eagle recited the name carefully to get his attention, not coming too much closer as not to startle him. In some ways he'd learned to treat Oliver like one of their animals when it got hurt-- that was, very carefully. And somewhere his heart always twisted just so at the idea. "Ah," he commented, clearing his throat and trying for an awkward smile, "want some? I have some more. It's homemade chocolate. Mum enjoys making it for post-exam day rewards." Eagle offered the bar in his hand out to the boy ready to retreat should it look like he preferred it. He hoped, however, he would take the token of friendship.
