Mira had never really cared for snow, but the redhead usually still tried to spend as much time outside as she could. On this particular December day, Mira had managed to get all of her homework done before the sun went down, so she grabbed the book she had been reading - a present from Colin - and headed to the nearest door that would take her outside. Several other students were already hanging out in the courtyard, also eager to soak up the sun. Mira smiled and nodded at the students she knew, waved in a friendly way to the first years she didn't recognize, and made her way to one of the empty benches.
Mira tried to get in a comfortable position to read, squirming and scrambling between a number of spots and causing a number of students making their way through the courtyard to stop, stare, and laugh. Eventually, Mira ended up slinging her legs over the back of the bench, so that her head was hanging off the bench where most people's feet dangled. It looked a little weird, but Mira didn't care. She cast a spell on her book so that it would float upside down in front of her face so she could read it. When she tried to reach up and flip a page though, the Gryffindor lost her balance and found herself tumbling off of the bench in a tangle of limbs. "Oof!" she grunted as she tried to detangle herself and get back up on her feet.

we are stunned minds
Desiree had one goal in mind currently: get back inside before she froze to death out here. She wasn't sure what had prompted her to come outside in the first place, it wasn't as if there was anyone in particular she had come outside to hang with. No, she'd simply been drawn to the enticing idea of sunshine among the cloudy December days.
After only a short while, though. Desi had decided she'd trade lock up for the current temperature - it was absolutely freezing. She'd never really been tolerant to the cold and, with the pile of schoolwork she still had waiting for tomorrow, her patience was worn fairly thin today.
She decided that she better go back inside and begin on her Transfiguration assignment. It wasn't actually due for a week, but she did very much enjoy getting a head start. She was looking up as she walked, studying the clouds and wondering if she'd be able to stargaze tonight, so she didn't see when the red head tumbled off of the bench onto the ground directly in her path.
She tripped over an outstretched leg of the other girls, sending her tumbling onto the girl as well. She landed hard on her tailbone, resisting the urge to exclaim a string of curses out loud. Instead, she locked her icy glare on the redhead, not even trying to get up yet. "What are you doing on the ground?!" She demanded, her voice edged with annoyance.
