Odette was okay with Hogwarts, but she felt a lot better being in her common room. Her parents had been really against her being a Hufflepuff, but things happened for a reason. One thing that happened was she met one of the best people in the whole wide world. Octavia was just amazing and Odette was glad to get to spend some time with her best friend. "Queeeeeeeeen. What are you up to today?" Really, as long as she could tag along with her bff, she'd be a happy camper.
Octavia couldn't stand most people in her house, to be frank. They were too cautious and apprehensive. Octavia fit many of the traits of the house and felt she fit there best, but her rebel streak made her feel a bit at odds with them at times. Luckily, she had found someone in her house she felt was her other - probably better - half: Odette. The girl was as amazing as she was beautiful, and the pair often drew eyes when they were out and about.
Today, she'd been in her dorm room, wrapped up in a book about vampires (her current obsession), when she realized she hadn't seen her friend in quite some time. Wandering downstairs to the common room, she spotted the younger girl. Bouncing over, she tackled her onto the nearest couch, smirking. "Hanging out with the best person ever, of course!" she declared.

Odette felt a lot better being around Octavia. She was always fun to hang out with. Really she sort of wished they were able to live together, but it wasn't like she could really help it. Octavia just had to be a year older then her, so they were in different dorms. Oh well. "Oh if it's anyone but me, I'll fight them." But really she'd feel a lot better getting to be with Octavia.
She was social, but her best friend just made things easier on her. "Hogwarts is just so boring sometimes." She couldn't imagine how the school was boring and yet it was.
Oct hugged her friend closer, not caring what it would look like to others to see the two girls draped all over each other on a couch in the common room. They could think whatever they wanted, it didn't bother her in the least. "You're the only one I'll ever have eyes for, you know that." She said, hurrying to assure Odette. It was true - the two shared a bond she'd yet to experience with anyone else.
"We'll have to find a way to make it more exciting. Speaking of exciting, I've been reading about vampires recently." She mentioned. She had a knack for being interested in the strange and weird, so Odette shouldn't be all that surprised by this new obsession. "Do you reckon any of them go to school with us? Any hidden vampires in our classes?" She asked curiously. Absently, she reached over and tucked a bit of Odette's hair behind her ear, a simple gesture that she thought not much of.

"You're too good for me." And yet Odette would love to spend time with Octavia. This was the best part about them both being Hufflepuffs. They were able to hang out together and do all of the proper things together. There was no one else Odette liked at Hogwarts, really. She felt more comfortable at home with her family. There were fewer people there then anywhere else. And she liked getting to have her own down time.
"Vampires?" That was something that Odette hadn't really thought about before. As it was, she didn't have any of those. "I don't know. I don't think so. Wouldn't it be possible to tell them without too much trouble?" After all, vampires were pretty easy to tell. The whole drinking blood stuff was gross. But whatever Octavia wanted, Odette would deal with.
She was more than happy to be with her best friend in the Common Room. Well, she'd be happy to be with her anywhere. "Nah. I think you're too good for me. But I've always sort of just hoped you wouldn't figure that out so you'd never leave me." She commented, smirking at her friend. She did think Odette probably deserved a better a friend - a less morbid one, at least. But she hadn't left her yet.
"I mean, obviously, they wouldn't drink blood out in the open though, would they? I mean they'd have to have a pretty good sense of self preservation. Though, I guess it'd depend on how long they'd been vampires for." She said. Her voice was getting that excited edge it got when she talked about morbid, dark things that she loved.

Odette rolled her eyes. "Like I would ever leave you." It was true. Out of all of the people at Hogwarts, Odette was her favorite person. Being in the same house was nice, although Odette often just wished that they actually shared a room. It would be so much more fun. "And I doubt I'll ever think that I'm good enough for you." It's why she'd never acted on her feelings before. She never wanted to actually try to do something and instead ruin their friendship.
At no point had Odette really thought deeply about vampires at Hogwarts. "They could just get the blood in the hospital wing? He seems like a nice guy." She liked the school healer. He was one of the best adults at Hogwarts, if not the best adult in the world.
Octavia just sort of smiled at her best friend, because she could. She was so happy too have the younger girl by her side, it seemed like it had been ages since the two hung out, just them. She rolled her eyes, though, when Odette stated it might be her who wasn't good enough. "Please. You've got brains and beauty and a kick-ass personality to boot. You're definitely the one who needs a better friend." She urged, moving to lean her head against Odette's shoulder as she spoke. The two were basically in constant physical contact, and that was fine with her.
She nodded at her friend's suggestion - it seemed completely logical. "Ah, you're right. You're so smart Odette." She preened, leaving the subject of vampires alone for the moment now. "Anyhow, what's new with you?"

Odette rolled her eyes. "The same could be said for you." It really was true. Her best friend was amazing and possibly one of the most beautiful girls she'd ever seen before. "And you're way more kick ass then I'll ever be." It was true. She could wish all she wanted to, but she'd never be able to be as good of a Quidditch player or anything else like that. Instead Octavia ruled the skies and honestly, she was okay with it.
She shrugged. "Honestly not much. I just have been feeling more like I exist then I'm really doing anything productive lately." Which really bothered her. Maybe it was the curse of being in school? Her time and energy was still stuck being here. "Hey. If you ever turn into a vampire or anything, you better turn me too." After all, she refused to let Octavia do anything like that without her.
She rolled her eyes a little at Odette. She knew her best friend didn't always think the most highly of herself, and it honestly boggled Octavia's mind. To her, Odie was one of the most beautiful people she'd ever met, and so kind to boot. Sometimes, Octie wished she was more like that. "Please. You've just gotta believe in yourself a little more. Because you are plenty kick ass, believe me. I see it." She said, trying to reassure her.
The girl began to speak again, and Octie situated herself so her head rested comfortably on Odette's shoulder, working to be as close as humanly possible. "Pfft. You'd be the first person I'd turn. You have a very pretty neck." She said, turning her head slightly to stare at the pale skin there, before giving it a slight, joking, brush of her teeth, emulating a bite. This, of course, sent her into a fit of giggles.

Octavia promised she'd turn Odette, and the younger girl couldn't help but grin. Still, feeling Octavia's teeth on her neck did something to her. Being confused by her own hormones, she wasn't sure exactly what this feeling was. Sure, Octavia was giggling, but that wasn't what was going on in Odette's mind. Odette's mind was a really dark place where she wondered about some dirty things she'd never actually considered before.
Sex wasn't something she'd ever had before. But this....this triggered in her. Turning her head slightly, she pressed her lips against Octavia's. Once she pulled back, she blinked. Had she meant to do that? Not really. But she couldn't imagine not doing it. It was like there was some sort of force that was drawing her to it. So she didn't say anything else and she just leaned over to him and kissed Octavia again.
Octavia was giggling to herself at her own silly move, and hardly noticed the advances of the other girl until she was mere millimeters from her face. She was completely taken off guard, and, when Odette pulled back to look at her, she blinked back, sure she looked equally confused. She opened her mouth a few different times to say something, but came up wordless each try.
The younger girl, fortunately, seemed to have enough sense for both of them, and this time, Octavia didn't hold back. Something clicked into place, the world falling into a foggy haze as she pulled the other girl closer, her own lips hungry against the mouth of the girl who, up until a few moments ago, had been nothing more than her best friend. Pulling back slightly, she gazed at the girl, her cheeks bright pink. "Odette....are you....sure you want to be doing this?" She asked nervously, tucking a bit of hair behind Odette's ear as she gazed at her.

The kiss had been Odette's first. Sure, she'd kissed her brother on the cheek and stuff like that, but this was different. This was the first time she'd wanted to kiss someone. This was the first time she wanted something romantic with a partner. She seemed to have one. although once Octavia spoke, it crashed any sense of desire that had been flying through the young Hufflepuff.
"I...." And then words came to her. Oh. Octavia wasn't interested in girls? She felt her own face turn bright red. Maybe she could sneak off before she cried? She found herself getting ready to crash and burn. "Oh I'm sorry. Octavia. You're right. I should have...." Should have what? Asked? Made sure Octavia was also apparently into girls?
She found herself jumping onto her feet. Maybe she should just run away.
