Though most of the time Japan wasn't her first choice of places to go, Athena couldn't find fault in the decision while she was trying to hide from the rest of the world. No one would look for her here. No one knew her here. It was a flawless plan if she did say so herself.
What wasn't so flawless about it was the fact that she'd decided to go into one of the many bars nearby. This could only end poorly, which might have been her goal but she wasn't telling. Sitting on one of the barstools, she ordered a drink, looking around as she waited for its arrival. There wasn't much going on. Yet. But time would hopefully remedy that.
Right well. Okay. He had not thought this through. Trying to avoid Delilah. Babies. Running away. Travelling. Doing things. So he went country hopping to all of his favourite places, because why not? Best course of plan. Except he'd ended up in Japan, because he loved Japan, and while walking through the streets a thought occurred to him. He'd met Delilah in Japan. Oh bother. Right. Good. Bad bad bad bad.
Well. Now he needed a drink. And some fun. And try to ignore the panic that thinking about Delilah caused him. So into a bar he went! The expected course of action for Cadan. Grabbing himself a drink, he glanced around, and then spotted a pretty girl at the counter. So of course he made his way over. "Hey," he said with a grin.

Athena was about to call things a boring loss and just enjoy her drink before leaving but then she saw a man coming her way. Oh, perhaps it wouldn't be boring after all. She would have to wait and see now that she had company, attractive company at that. "Hello," she returned easily, turning as her drink arrived. "What brings you here?" she continued as she raised the glass to her lips to take a drink.
Approaching random pretty girls seemed to work pretty well for him. Okay well. Mostly. Sometimes. Sometimes he got drinks thrown at his face. Which was probably fair. He'd have thrown drinks at himself too, honestly. "Mostly the alcohol," he said with a half grin, because he had no filter anyway. "And hopefully a fun night." Maybe if he drunk enough it wouldn't matter either way? "Though if you mean here, by 'exactly where I am standing in front of you', it's because you're pretty," he threw back his drink, placing the glass down. That was a good reason to go talk to people, right?

make you famous.
Sitting her drink back down on the bar, she crossed her arms and looked at the man. At least his answers were honest enough. They weren't some sort of miserable, awful pick-up line like she'd initially been expected. Well, mostly. A single eyebrow raising, she said, "I certainly hope you don't think calling me pretty is going to get you somewhere." Because his earlier comments suggested he wanted to get somewhere with someone.
"Well I'd hope not," he said, looking back at her. "That'd probably be disappointing." He turned towards the bar. "I'll have another. And another of whatever the lady has." He'd probably have more money if he stopped spending it on drinks. Oh well. He didn't have any regrets.

make you famous.
Eyebrow raising as the man ordered another of each of their drinks, Athena shook her head at him. "Buying me more drinks won't get you anywhere either," she stated. At least not without a lot of other factors involved as well, and this man wasn't yet delivering to her standards.
"Hey, I'm not buying you a drink because I think it'll get me somewhere. That's rude." Their drinks arrived, and he picked his up, eyeing her. "If you don't want it, I'll quite happily drink the both of them." Very happily in fact. Even if what she was drinking might not be his first choice in drink. Who knew.

"Well you're certainly not buying them because you can afford to be loose with your money," she commented a bit rudely as she eyed him up and down. All the same she picked up the drink when it arrived, raising an eyebrow at him. "Cheers."
He looked at her for a moment, and then snorted, looking faintly amused. "That's a bit rude," he commented, though didn't sound that offended by it. It wasn't really a false statement. "I'm British, drinks are at the bottom of the food pyramid," he picked up the new drink in a mock toast. "Cheers."

Her lips twitched up into a sharp smirk. "I'm a bit rude," she said with a shrug. She really wasn't going to say no to a free drink though, even if it could potentially leave the other person without money. "I have noticed that from my time in London." However, she didn't go on to divulge where she was from. He really didn't need that information. Plus it didn't take a genius to realize her accent wasn't English or Japanese.
"You don't say," he said lightly, taking a mouthful of his drink. He probably overdid the drinking, even in terms of being British, but it definitely worked as a plausible excuse. She clearly was not British, and he thought over the accent for a moment, he was decent enough at placing accents from his travelling. "You're from Greece, right?" Or somewhere in the part of the world. He liked Greece a lot. But then he liked lots of places a lot. Greece was great though. Maybe he should go back there again soon. He could do that after Japan.

Well, well. Wasn't he clever? Athena smirked at the man. "Got it in one, impressive," she said. Not that she was actually all the impressed. There were only so many options it could have been after all. She knew that accents in some parts of the world were similar to each and sometimes hard to pick out, but honestly it wasn't rocket science or something like that. "Though if I wanted to hide that, you would never be able to tell," she continued on, letting her accent transition to English as she spoke.
He shrugged his shoulders at her. "I'm pretty good at picking up accents." If you had a good enough ear, and spent enough time around them, you could pick out the subtle differences between neighbouring countries. He smiled as her accent changed to English. "Clever trick. I can do that too, but mine turning into English isn't nearly as impressive." He could mimic some accents well enough when attempting to converse in those languages though? That counted, right? "You're a very long way from home." Though so was he, but hey, details.

"You say trick, I say tactic." After all, it was useful when people didn't know where you were actually from when you ran the risk of pissing them off. It led them on a bit of a wild goose chase without the effort. Plus it was useful in just generally not giving anything away. "Am I really a long way from home or has home shifted countries?" she posed to him. Challenging others, even simply was always a bit of good fun.
