Théo thought for a moment. Sneakers was fine, but he didn't want to sweat with his pajamas. He walked over to his trunk to get a dark tee-shirt and a different pair of loose, comfortable pants (maybe he should have invested in a pair of shorts, but there wasn't really much investing he could do himself). He glared at Pike and said, "Turn around," before he got to work changing his clothes.
Eventually, Théo was dressed (including a sweater and a pair of sneakers) and ready to go. "How's this?" he asked, but he probably wasn't going to change if for some reason Pike criticized him.

Pike grumbled. He didn't understand why he was being told to turn around, but whatever. Fine. This would be just fine. When he was allowed to turn around, he nodded his head at Théo. "Yeah. That looks fine." As long as the other male was fine running in it, it would be just fine. Oh well. No matter what, they would be able to go running.
"Come on." And he moved his head towards the door. Without saying another thing, he was moving over towards it. It shouldn't take long to get to the outside.
Théodore followed along quietly. On the one hand, he was a little excited to try something new with someone who didn't get under his skin. On the other hand, he was a bit apprehensive about people potentially staring at him or his feet giving out or getting too tired to keep up with Pike.
The eagle didn't speak unless spoken to all the way to the ground floor of the castle and out onto the grounds.

Not talking wasn't a warning sign or anything like that to Pike. Instead he felt....a nice confidence. As much as he liked it when Lottie chattered on, it was sort of nice to not have to think about talking to someone else. Instead they were able to just get outside without conversation. They hadn't talked in what felt like ages and that was just fine with him.
"Just let me know if you need me to slow down or anything." He stated when they were finally on the grounds.
"Roger," Théodore confirmed once they were outside, and he followed Pike's lead. It felt rather nice outside, and he wouldn't mind some exercise, even if he was awfully out of shape and would regret it within minutes. He realized that, too, but he wasn't going to ruin Pike's fun before it even started.

Waking up from the best sleep he'd had in awhile and going on a run with the person who made it all possible was a good start to the day. In fact, Pike actually felt most of his worries and stress just roll off of him. They were fine. Things were okay. So he focused on jogging, keeping the pace rather quick. Otherwise his mind might wander and he didn't need that.
Thédore tried to keep up--really, he did, but he couldn't. They'd gotten a little ways, the eagle jogging alongside the snake, but he eventually slowed his pace until he was stopped completely, bent over with his hands on his knees. Out of breath, he called out, "W-wait--wait a sec," and then closed his eyes and tried to calm down.
This was extraordinarily embarrassing. While he didn't really care what people thought about him, he had bothered Pike to do this with him, so he felt a little bad. "Fuck, that's intense." He really needed to get back into shape.

Pike had almost missed hearing Thédore saying he needed them to pause. But at least he had heard the other male. So he paused his running and found himself breathing kind of hard as well. But he nodded his head up and down at the Ravenclaw. "Yeah. When we had a bad captain for Slytherin, I had to pick up running." It kept him from murdering the other male. Sure, it didn't often help. But it gave him something else to focus on.
"Sorry. I should have remembered you haven't been doing this for years." Not that Théodore was out of shape or anything. But this was a tad bit extreme.
Still bent over with his eyes closed, Théodore shook his head slowly. "No, it's fine," he offered through gritted teeth. It wasn't Pike's fault the eagle had to stop. "Just give me a second and I'll be fine."
He stood up straight, stretched, and breathed carefully to make sure he didn't push himself too much. "Do you want to go on without me? It's fine." Still terribly embarrassed and far too proud to say anything about it, he avoided eye contact.

Pike eyed the other male. He likes Théodore in a way he never really liked anyone. The Ravenclaw settled something horribly broken in him and made him feel almost okay. "Nah. It's good to take a break." But he couldn't just stop moving so instead he started doing a leg stretch. The idea of getting a cramp was a bad one.
"If you're serious about wanting to get into running, you'll sorta have to pick it up every other say." He stated with a shrug. Pike liked routine. And it helped that he'd let his muscles get close to no longer being sore before running again.
Théodore frowned. He was grateful that Pike wasn't going to leave him behind--in fact, Pike didn't seem bothered by the ordeal at all--but running every other day was quite the commitment. After a moment to think, he asked, "When and where should I meet you then?" Running with Pike wasn't a terrible idea for starting his days. In fact, he thought it was rather nice, as far as ideas went.

For some reason, Pike was surprised that Theodore was willing to run with him a couple days a week. Maybe it was the fact that it was an activity that allowed them to move around without having to talk? It became more difficult when attempting to make conversation, after all. "The entrance hall like around five thirty am work for you?" Even on the new meds Petra had him on, he hated sleeping around other people. He'd probably hardly sleep in his own bed.
Théodore grimaced, but his tone didn't express the same sentiments: "Sure, that works." Getting up even earlier than usual sounded like a terrible idea; sleep was sacred, and he already stayed up as late as he possibly could without ruining his sleep. He would have to go to bed earlier on those days.
Standing up straight and stretching, the eagle added, "Maybe we could...start out a little more slowly until I get on your level?" He felt selfish asking it, but a part of him was looking forward to spending time with Pike, so he didn't regret feeling selfish.

Honestly, Pike didn't mind going slowly for Theodore to get to his level. It wasn't really like it would be the end of anything. "That sounds good with me. It'll work better if you tell me when you need me to slow down." Because he wasn't a seer or anything like that. He could change his appearance at will and had been doing better with it.
Théodore nodded. "Yeah, all right." It was a reasonable request, no matter how uncomfortable he would be asking it. "Are we...running more, or is it time for breakfast?" He stopped stretching and stared at Pike in waiting.
