The teenagers around her made Alerie quite nauseous. She liked her own children and her brothers children but everyone else were simply..disgusting. Perhaps there was one exception and that was Ariana Rosewood. She was simply a little lost dove that needed a push. Alerie was the perfect for that because she acted as the lioness and protected her from her own family even if her own family was there to protect Ariana. Oh well. The wheels had been set and there was nothing the last remaining Rosewood could do. Aemeric so far had not been informed about this but he was soon. Alerie was sure of that. Expect that his brother has been acting like a total ass, Alerie was holding back vital information from him just to ensure that he learned his lesson.
Obviously little Aemon was not to suffer from his fathers idiocy and she was glad to finally see him. Aemon was a little lamb, not as strong willed perhaps as his siblings but still a Reyne. Seeing the little boy wrapped in a..yellow and black scarf did make Alerie cringe a little from the inside but he didn't let her smile fade on bit. " Aemon, my dear." She said and immediately hugged the little one tightly. " It's very good to see you, Aemon. Your father failed to tell me that you've grown quite a bit."

Why would a Ministry high witch even bother to travel to Scotland and all the way to Hogsmeade? Why would Alerie Reyne even bother taking the time from her busy schedule to visit a student? Only because this student was just any other but her own family. Aemon was her nephew and very dear to her. Her brother never quite understood how had this one turned out so..normal. Alerie feared that Aemeric had been very loose when it came to raising Aemon but it turned out quite the opposite; the boy was just nice. His house in the other hand was still a manner of debate between Aemeric, Alerie and their father. The boy was still to be raised as a pureblooded nobility, no matter what the house. Alerie also did care for the boy, he was her nephew through it all. Alerie had sent a quick owl to her nephew telling him that she'd join him for a Hogsmeade visit and that they'd catch up.
It was not a request. Besides, Alerie hadn't seen Aemon being so busy in the Ministry and trying to fend off the last remaining Rosewood. The youngest was already in her claws so she did not count. Colton was a minor problem, nothing Alerie couldn't handle. She was wrapped in a thick coat of red and gold where the cold could not get to her. She loathed the cold and perhaps that's why loathed the English weather so much. It was always cold. Alerie waited patiently ( well, it was slowly wearing thin) for her nephew to arrive and wondered if the boy knew not to be late.

Was this easy or had Alerie forgotten something? The girl was eating from her hand and this seemed to be too easy. Inside her head, she was smiling but on the outside Alerie Reyne kept that famous neutral expression of hers. She wasn't going to let this slip from her fingers. She was going to take this girl, teach her to hate her remaining family and in the end, dispose of her just as she had done with Ariana's parents.
Alerie's suspicion had been correct; Colton Rosewood was a lost cause. He was not going to be able to raise Ariana in his care. He would die soon enough anyway and it was better if Ariana wasn't there to witness that one as well. Aemeric would argue with his sister about this. To take a lost sheep from the enemy into their care was not a good thing. Who knew if this was a plot between Colton and Ariana. Then again, Colton did not seem to be smart or then he was just playing the stupid part very well.
" Frankly, I would take you into my own care." Alerie said. " You deserve a better life. A life where you don't have to be ignored and will get anything you want." Spoiling their children was what Reyne's did the best anyway. " I can promise you that you will get all the things you need and that you won't have to be afraid of anymore."
Alerie painted a warm smile on her face. " Would you be ready to come live with me and my family then?" The paperwork would be easy. The process would be shift and painless. Well, not for Colton.

Alerie had her own family to think about and she hardly did have much time to look after little girls. This was different though. Oh so much different. Arianna was a girl who was the child of Reyne's enemies and with that, easy to manipulate into thinking and doing whatever Alerie wished. For now, the target was to make Arianna against her brother and finish off the brother as soon as possible. Perhaps this time Aemeric would choose someone else than himself for this job. Even if Aemeric was her brother, he still was a useless piece of shit sometimes.
Oh yes. The man deserved it. Or not. No one could really help him anymore because Alerie had made sure he was imprisoned for a long time and would never set his foot outside. Obviously, he was going to die in prison and was not going to be blabbering anything to anyone. " He deserves to die." Alerie said plainly.
" Now, onto more pressing matter, my dear." The woman said quickly. " What can you tell about your brother? Are you safe with him?"

She would not move or offer a tissue to the little girl. In fact, Alerie did not have any tissues in this big office of hers. Why? Because there would be no tears shed in here, no sign of weakness uttered. Her brother and father were the same. They were tough. They knew their rights and the fact that purebloods were royalty in this society. One would argue that tainted blood was growing more common but that was exactly what Alerie wanted to get rid of. She also wanted to get rid of all the people and their families that were a threat to her and her family. She had already gotten rid of the Rosewood but yet, one of them sat right front of her and Alerie could not do anything but to smile and ensure that the girl would trust her.
It was all going according to the plan but Alerie needed to ensure that the girl was given false information about the deaths of her family. It hadn't been just a man but the one killing had been Alerie's brother, Aemeric. Disguised with the help of polyjuice potion, Aemeric had done the deed yet living one witness and one still alive. Unbelievable. Aemeric had one job yet he failed to do so. He was supposed to be the warrior of the family but he hadn't managed to handle one damn job. It made Alerie boil from inside. How could one job be too much for a person who handled most of the foreign affairs in the Ministry? Aemeric had the guts to curse and use other people during the Dark Lords reign but oh no, he could not simply finish off a little girl.
" Yes." Alerie said once again, softly. " It was a man who, in his delusions, thought that your father had done something wrong." Well, in Alerie's case Ariana's father had done something wrong. " He broke into your house and blindly did what he thought was right. He has been now imprisoned and will never be set free again." Alerie left out the part where this man would most likely die in Azkaban.
" I want you to understand one thing, little dove." The older woman began. " You can come to me whenever you want to. I'm here for you. If your brother is not taking care of you as he should, I will do it myself." If only Ariana knew the real intentions of Alerie Reyne.

The bump made Alerie simply furious. She gave the young woman a rather dirty look and at first decided not to engage in conversation with the other woman. Yet, the fiery nature of a lioness took over her and she simply glared. " I do believe we are on Earth, if that's what you're wondering." Alerie spat. She did not have time for this, she had a meeting with the Minister of Magic so this was a waste of time.

Watching a little girl cry was something Alerie did not want to see. She knew that seeing her own children cry was horrid and she would never put them through anything awful. She would protect her children. She would not let anything bad happen to them. She was a queen and a mother. Mothers protect their children no matter what. The Rosewood's did not protect their children properly. They had failed and now two of their children were in the mercy of the Reyne's. Well, in the mercy of Alerie seeing as she was the one who decided if this little girl left alive from her office today. Alerie tilted her head as the tears were wiped off from Ariana's eyes. " Don't cry, little dove." The woman said softly. " It is your duty now to carry on your family name and make your parents proud." As long as Alerie wiped them all off from the face of the Earth that was.
The Ministry records were limited but Alerie knew that Colton Rosewood or McCoy as he was known these days was a cursebreaker. Irresponsible yet the only caretaker for this little girl. It would be easy to take them both down. It wouldn't take Alerie that long or effort but she had to bite her time. She had to make sure that no one suspected her. " Yes." Alerie replied simply. " They were murdered and we know now who it could be." Framing a man that was a nuisance was perhaps a low thing to do but if Alerie could get rid of someone that had been criticizing the Reyne family and lead little Ariana from suspecting anything, it was all worth it.

Alerie eyed the little girl wondering at the same time how could've she been so careless. Wouldn't it be better if she had died with her family instead of being alive and she had to mourn from them. It just wasn't fair. Alerie felt awful for the child. Well. She couldn't feel anything that remotely felt like remorse but still she could imagine what it felt like. Was she sad that this little girl had no family left? Not really. Was she sad that this poor unfortunate soul had no mother or father to look after her? No. Alerie smiled at the little one softly but inside of her she was roaring from rage.
Yet, as the well raised and poised woman she was, Alerie's smile stayed on her face as she watched Ariana sit down and look more or less uncomfortable. She should be, thought Alerie, she was in the presence of the lioness who had offed her family. Not that the report front of her mentioned any of that sort and Alerie was quite glad about that. " I am quite good, thank you for asking." Alerie responded softly. " You're a polite little thing, aren't you." Her parents had raised her properly then. Of course that was no surprise; every pureblood and noble family would have to be polite. " And how are you, little dove? How is Hogwarts?"
Alerie detested small talk but she did realize that in order to get a bit more information out of the little girl, she had to gain her trust. That, was only achievable by being the warm, caring mother lioness to Ariana. No matter how much she hated her family and everything her father had fought for, she had to be..nice. " Do you know why you were asked here today?" Alerie questioned, calmly.

She got what she wanted. Always had. As a little girl, she learned that the world was cruel and only the strongest survived. Her mother hadn't survived. She had much hoped neither of her brothers had survived making her the only child. That had not happened. She still had two brothers. Both irritating than the second. Alerie wanted it all. She wanted the power. She wanted to be the best. It was hard work and Alerie had still so much to do. She also had a job to do that took most of her time as well. She had her children that she adored but she could never put them in harms way.
Today though, she was to meet with a little girl. Little Ariana's family had perished by Alerie's orders but obviously the girl was not to know this. It had all happened fast and swiftly. Alerie had not been the one doing the dirty work of course but she was still disappointed that she hadn't. Alerie Reyne would have not left any witnesses, any trace of the Rosewood family. Now, there was still two miserable souls from that damn family roaming about.
Alerie went through the case report. No suspects. No traces. No nothing that could tie her to this. The other side of her lip pulled up. She had done it yet two had survived. That made her face more sour, more sullen. The knock on her door made her look up. That had to be Ariana and hopefully no older brother. Colton Rosewood or better known as McCoy these days was a nuisance but he knew nothing. He wasn't important. " Come in." Called Alerie, picked up her wand and opened the door. The fiery hair of Ariana Rosewood popped from the doorway. " Ah. Hello, little dove." She motioned her to come in and sit down.
Deep down, Alerie Reyne wanted to strangle the little girl just for being alive. Ariana was nothing but a reminder of Alerie's grand fuck-up.
