"Oh, please." He said, pointedly rolling his eyes at her. "It does not take that much game to get you. I could do it, if I really wanted to. But, I want give Professor Whatever-his-name-is a run for his money. Wouldn't want to embarrass him or anything." He said concisely. Not that Athena wasn't pretty, or that he hadn't noticed. She'd simply never been his type. He preferred red-heads.
He moved towards the shop, calling insults behind him the whole way. "C'mon, it's freaking Quidditch equipment. It can't be that hard, can it?" Ozzy almost immediately regretted the comment as he stepped through the doors and took a look around. The shop was stocked with hundreds of shelves of premium items, and, frankly, he didn't know where to start. He turned to face Athena now, giving her a sheepish little shrug. "Well, then..."
Ozzy scoffed at her as she took the flask and let herself have a large swig. "Whatever. I don't even want it now that your nasty mouth has been all over it. Probably tastes like old man." He shot back at her, implying that because Athena was quite literally dating a guy that was nearly twice her age. A few years older, and the dude could've been her dad. It was kinda gross.
With a huff, he turned on his heel and headed towards the shop. He tried to ignore the way his right hand kept wanting to twitch towards the pocket where his flask normally lived, instead turning his attention on Athena. "So, I take it you feel honored that I included you in this extremely exciting activity, princess?" He asked sarcastically over his shoulder, if she was even following him at that point.
He really didn't like to be without the flask. Sure it was old, a dinged up stainless steel casing that had seen the better part of a few years. But he always had it on him. He didn't like to think he had a problem, but he didn't exactly hide the drinking from anyone, save Odette. Everybody could see how attached he was to the object.
So, when Athena rounded the corner and promptly grabbed the flask from his hands, it was his instinct to whine in rebuttal. "Hey! I need that." He protested, reaching a hand to grab it back which she would undoubtedly bat away. Still, he had to try. "C'mon, do you really want to drag out this whole ordeal?"
Over the years - during school and now, as a teammate - of knowing Athena Kastor, Osric had formed a sort of friendship. Maybe it was closer to a tolerance than anything else, but the two seemed to atleast get along well enough to work together. He kind of liked to think that even Athena would call him a friend, even if she'd never say it out loud.
Her brother, however, was a different story. Ozzy could never seem to get off on a good foot with the guy. It probably didn't help that most of his existence consisted of drinking or goofing off at practice, and he didn't think Ares was too fond of the carefree attitude.
In an effort to become a better role model for his little sister, he'd been trying to take Quidditch more seriously. He'd asked Ares to practice a bit one on one with him. Sure, he could have asked Athena, but they'd probably end up not taking the whole thing seriously, and just picking at each other.
He'd extended the offer to Ares to meet him today. He didn't actually know if the older guy would come or not, he could only hope. Part of being a better Quidditch player meant he had to be a better teammate as well. And, though his hand itched to grab the flask out of his bag, he resisted. All for Odette, he reminded himself. All for Odette.
Ozzy had recently decided to help out with the team some more. He'd even offered to the Captain to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Mostly, because he was one huge, drunk joke, he didn't think he'd really be taken too seriously. However, he was soon awarded with a whole list of tasks that needed doing, much to his dismay.
On the list of at least ten things that needed to be done was gathering some new supplies. Upon realizing this - and realizing that they needed some of this stuff for tomorrow afternoon's practice - he'd made his way to the Quidditch supplies shop. But, this was only after he found Athena and begged her (annoyed her) to come with him. He was oddly successful in this venture, and she promised to meet him later that day.
He apparated to the Alley, evidently arriving before Athena, as she didn't seem to be anywhere. Not wanting to go in alone, he found a bench to lounge upon. As usual, the flask in his pocket was pulled out, and he took a deep swig as he waited for his teammate to appear.
